After several years of vaping, my leather jacket still has minor smoke smell. I've managed to get rid of most of it, but not all of it.

And it's possible she did smell smoke from someone else. The smell is pretty strong, so it's certainly possible that someone else in the room had smoked recently, or someone else took a puff outside just about the time you walked in.

But some people will see vapor and start complaining about it, and neither facts nor logic will matter to them.

I can't see any reason you should worry about her, or her opinion.

I can tell you for a fact that you don't smell like smoke unless you were out partying with smokers or you wore something that hadn't been washed or aired out after you quit cigarettes. I know because people have told me I smell like vanilla or caramel when I meet them for dinner after vaping in my car. That said, it is pretty rude for a stranger to tell you that you smell--unless complimenting you on after shave or perfume!

My wife once accused me of having had a glass of wine without offering her one. Turns out I had been vaping a Merlot flavor earlier...

I vape strawberry cheesecake from wordupecig and have been over a year, the other night my wife asks me if i got new juice cuz i smell like smoke. I swear i think non smokers imagine it, i bet if i took one puff off a smoke and kissed her she would gag!

So it's night time, around 12:45am here so it's pretty damn dark outside. I take another short toot on the way and make sure I've exhaled before I reach the door, my ecig tucked away in my back pocket before I enter.

That's possible she may have seen something. My reply was based on Griff saying it was tucked away in his pocket before entering & also the time of night. I know I cant see a thing when it's dark outside unless I'm nose to nose with the window.

Redonkulous. I'm a big fan of being accommodating, and I realize some juices have a smell (though I've never witnessed a smoke-smelling vape), but I've got no problem calling BS on a knee-jerk hater in a polite way. Terry Tenette two thumbs up on how OP handled this.

The same people not close enough to smoke to smell it who complained because people were doing it on planet earth, are still going to be hosebaggers about vaping. These are the folks who want everyone to be like them, which we do not want, because they are self centered inconsiderate boobs. Why would it be a problem for her if you *had* been smoking a cigarette outside? Not her territory, not her rules. The only reason I don't blow vapor right into the faces of such idiots, is because I do not base my self image on being rude, as they seem to. People like that will do any little thing they can to make themselves feel superior, regardless of the logic involved.

The worst thing I heard was when one of my employees walked into my office after I had vaped and put away my PV. He said that it smelled like potpurri - I was vaping black cherry.

I never acknowledge that question as possible being directed at me. I'll immediately start looking around, and then tell the questioner that I don't see anyone smoking and mention that I do not smell smoke. If they ask me if I smoke, I tell them that I quit last November and haven't had one since. I do not offer my PV up as an explanation for "smoking" because it is not smoking and is not related to smoking.

It has got to stop somewhere, and I am a "the buck stops here" kinda guy. I won't play silly little games like that with dolts.

I haven't smelled any vapor that smells like smoke. I have smelled some I did not like, but it sure didn't smell like a cigarette.

The only time anyone has said anything about the way I smell was after I had vaped some Peaches and Cream. I walked in a business and a worker there said I smelled like candy.
