Newbie vaper here. Tried my first cheapo gas station kit a little over a week ago. Although it wasn't great, I knew that with the right set-up, I could give up the smokes for good. The same day I got my gas station kit, I ordered an Ego T. Although I'm sure I'll eventually upgrade, right now, I'm extremely happy with it.

When I went in search of my first kit, it wasn't my intention to give up the smokes. I was really looking for a solution to not wanting to go outside first thing in the morning to have my morning smoke. My boyfriend recently quit with patches, so I had stopped smoking in the house except for my first couple cigarettes in the morning I'd smoke in the bathroom with the exhaust fan on. He started complaining about that, and I started searching for a solution that would allow me to not completely give up smoking. However, after getting my ego, I started using it and realized at the end of the night I hadn't even thought about smoking a cigarette. The next day, I smoked a couple out of habit after meals and such, but with each one, I was realizing how nasty they were tasting to me. I finished off that pack Saturday night, and haven't bothered buying more, and haven't missed them.

I've been voraciously reading these forums since I started considering the ecigs, and I have to say this place is about the friendliest and most helpful community I've ever seen. I've learned so much in such a short amount of time. Still a newbie just learning, of course, but if there's anything I wonder about, I can usually search the forums here and find my answer without having to ask. You people are absolutely wonderful. :)

Thank you for the warm welcome.

I have to say I was very surprised to not find myself wanting a cigarette. I was at 1 1/2 packs per day and 25 years of smoking behind me. Normally anytime I even think of quitting, I get anxious, but have had no anxiety this time. Perhaps it's because I didn't set out to quit, but merely supplement.

Now the goal is to find a juice flavor or 2 that I truly like. I only ordered 2 flavors when I ordered my ego kit, and am not wild about either one, but they both still taste better than cigarettes. I have juices coming in the mail today, and have to say I'm excited about it.

Welcome to ECF Snoopielyn !
It's amazing isn't it !
I smoked for over 40 years, bought a kit on a whim, decided it tasted better than my cigarettes and just finished out the carton...never looked back.
That was over 2 years ago now.

Not bad for someone that was never going to quit smoking cigarettes huh !

That's exactly the way I felt, Classwife. I genuinely enjoyed smoking, and had problems quitting, because I didn't really want to quit something I enjoyed. However, I enjoy vaping more.

Just got some juice in the mail and have yet to find anything I truly don't like. Some are better than others, but luckily every one I've tasted so far is good.

Welcome to ECF and congratulations on quitting, SnoopieLyn. You found out what we all found out. Ecigs will take your tobacco away without significant stress. Even if you are one of those like me who felt like we had to hang on to our coffee cigs and after meal cigs, when you decide to give them up and only vape, it's a non-issue.

I've quit cold turkey before and succeeded for two and a half years. It was on a bet and I never smoked another one until stress in my life made me buy a pack. I was back up to two packs a day within a month. Cold turkey is no fun. I was a nervous wreck for a long time because I still wanted one! :hubba:

Ecigs made it easy to give up cigarettes.

Wow...I just can't get over how wonderfully nice and supportive this community is.

Yes, my boyfriend is so much happier to not have to cough a lung up in the morning after walking into a cloud of my smoke. He's been very supportive of this whole thing, asking questions, encouraging me to go with it.

I think this has been so easy for me because I don't really feel like I had to give anything up. I traded a nasty habit for a better way to quench my craving. I think it's wonderful. I hope I don't end up putting people I know off by talking about it too much. So far I've seen a bit of interest among my smoking family members. I'm doing my best to educate them and letting them try it without being the type to try to push it on them, lol.

I doubt I would have been as assured this was the right route for me if it wasn't for this forum. Every question I've had so far, I've found an answer to...and some answers to questions I likely would have had if I someone else hadn't beat me to it and I stumbled upon it.

This forum just makes the whole transition even better for me. I found vaping and a whole community of good people at the same time.

I did discover today that as much as I'd been enjoying vaping PG based juices, I absolutely love the juices in from 75 PG/25 VG to 60 PG/ 40 VG. Without this forum, I likely wouldn't have known to get samples of different ratios and such. I'd still be enjoying the vape, but not quite as much.

Cheers! :)
