Sorry to hear of your misfortune, Tnt. I knew you were going thru some stuff but not to this degree. I don't know if you are a religious sort, but I've always heard that God never gives you more than you can't handle.

And I also know "what goes around, comes around." I was fired from a job 6 years ago where I had been a loyal employee for 26 years. Long story short, I had a sleeping disorder that I was unaware that I had. If I sat down during a slow or down time, I would nod out. This never affected my job performance, but there were certain individual co-workers who got their ego's pumped up by ratting on people for the slightest of things.

Luckily for me, I had 4 weeks of paid personal time off owed to me which I received between jobs. I was accepted for my current job one week after being fired from the first one. Five years after I was fired, my former institution has come under very hard times resulting in forced layoffs, and my overall supervisor, who had widespread power and prestige at his position within the company, was fired for having an affair with one of his trainee's and lost what respect and recognition that he once had and is now a laughing stock amongst his peers. Couldn't have happened to a more deserving person. :p

Meanwhile, my sleep disorder was recognized by my current supervisor (his brother has it) and it is now under treatment. My current job is so busy that our business is at 100% capacity. It turns out that getting fired was the best thing that could have happened to me. My sleeping disorder was recognized for what it was so that I could get treatment for it and not mistakenly recognized as being lazy and a goof-off. I now hold a position where I am an acknowleged value to the company, and job security is sound because business is brisk. I am blessed.

So, what goes around, comes around. Remember, when one door closes, another one opens.

If you have a respitory problem, I will never suggest that you do anything that is inhaled. I just know what MY own personal experience and also the advice from my lung doctor was. Anything is better than cigarettes. Lets see. 4-5 ingredients compared to 4000. No burning of a product. Most things are what your prescribed in medication or that you eat everyday except for the nic. I'll go with the math along with my doctors recomendation. And you bet. I've become a test subject for some medical studies. NP. I just know the difference it made with me. But I have to be the first to admit I would have never gotten this far without the Help from this fantastic group of people to support me and guide me along the way. Yes I don't agree with all but then I don't agree with a lot of people. If it comes down to someone's health, I agree with anything that will help someone.

Just and F.Y.I TnT if you care to pursue it but in many states your car even its sitting on a school campus is considered private property. You might have a case here and I would definitely talk to a lawyer.

Who knows if you win and they offer a settlement you could end up being part owner of that brick and mortar. :)

ITT has offices in the building I work at and when they banned smoking (even in the car) it included e-cigs too, but they allow snus and chewing. The ban in the car is because you are still on their property, not sure how enforceable it is and probably varies state to state. They loosened their smoking restrictions when all of the smokers would walk to the street sidewalk, they didn't like how it looked to people passing by.

The only way you can stop me from vaping is to pry my cold stiff hands from my provari or whatever is in my hand at the time right along with my gun. LOL When you think about it going back to a pack a day and still vaping is a WHOLE lot better than 3 packs a day and no vaping. After all it's not the ones we smoke but the ones we didn't. Give me a Huraaaa Raaaay.

Keep strong and good luck with your new job, I'm a lot jealous :).

Batitude I feel like a brother with you. I did the same thing. I spent I lacked 7 months being able to draw my retirement from an overseas company that bought us out. In that time frame I was "Terminated due to reduction in headcount". The job went to China and I made more than they wanted to pay. From $50,000 down to $18,000. No benifits or anything else. I finally got to draw a pension. After 27years and five months I got $300 dollars a month. At this point in my life I'm just to old and way to tired to fight anymore. This young couple, (God bless them) have decided that I have a knowledge and underestanding that they want in their shop. They want someone who is experienced enough to talk to people. Am I success, I don't think so. Am I a failure. Just don't ever say it in front of my face. I'll do whatever I have to do to help people. In my heart this shop is going to become larger than it is. Their getting ready to open another shop in another town. I found out that a local shop from Oklahoma has threatened the owner. OMG. You tell one of my close friends that your gonna Kick his &&&. And then bury him. Oh let the party begin. I may be old but I got the scares to prove I'll go to the ground with ya. Just ask the last person who tried it. You may win but you'll never walk right again. In short I guess I'm just trying to say that I believe in this young couple and they believe in me. What more could a man ask for. I'm old enough to be their daddy. But they have always been kind to me and I want to repay the favor. Pay it forward as we say here on ECF. Just like you do Brother. (I still ain't ordered that darn case for my tanks.) Oh well won't need it now. New job will be about a mile away. Old job was 45 miles away. Yea I'm blessed. By higher powers than a mortal man ever could.
(wanted to correct a statement). The male part of the business wasn't told all this. His Wife was. Let's rock and roll on that one. She was alone at the time. So it comes to he said she said. Legal part. sorry.

I have to be somewhat circumspect here and yet address one of your problems... COPD/Asthma

I have it so bad that I keep rescue inhalers in my pocket as well as one in the car. Last month it got so bad I asked my doctor for a scrip for a nebulizer.

Vaping rather than analogs cleared up some parts of my breathing problems but did not address others. When a recent election legalized an un-named material here in WA recently, I was offered something I had not tried in many years...

The immediate relief of my dyspnea, lasting 10 to 15 hours was a shock. I googled and found that it is on the list of medical conditions commonly prescribed for in states where medical use of the un-named material is allowed.

Before I started vaping I was using a nebulizer from 2-3 times a day. Carried a rescue inhaler everywhere I went. Twice a day maintenance inhaler. Since I started vaping on 9/5/2012, I've had to use the nebulizer 8 times. the rescue inhaler since I went back to main campus twice. My lung doc says I've never sounded so good. I'll go for the vape. Been looking for the Swedish Snus but really don't know what to get. I get a small exacerbation attack every morning when my lungs clean out. Before I've had to be picked up litterally by the ambulance team and transported to the ER because they deemed me unresponsive. I'll take the vape and a brief moment of discomfort comparied to a couple of days of being laied up in bed anytime.

I just want to say that I personally consider each and every member here part of my family. Brothers and Sisters alike. The help and support is the most important thing any mortal man could ask for. I don't use the term Brother or Sister lightly. The profession I have at the moment I've put my life on the line for the sake of others. I've almost had my head shot off once, Things happen and they will always be part of a very close dear family to me. I guess you just have to be exposed to it to understand when someone says. " I'll take a bullet for him/her. Cause I've been there and done that. That's why this forum is so important to me. It's the support and help you all provide. I just try to Pay It Forward. Just remember never judge a new member or any member. We are all different and all are looking for the exact same thing. To stop smoking. Offer kind advice and give a soft nudge when a member needs it. Some of us need a hard kick in the lower end of the human body to get it though. Be kind and be gentle. I see to many noobs getting advice they don't need. Remember we were all there at one time of our lives. Some of us struggle and continue to smoke and vape while others can just vape from day one. We're all different in our own ways. I see way to many rants and raves for a noob to understand. Help them find their own way. That's why their here. Whoops inside typing came out. Sorry.

Amazing. I have experienced the same warm hands. I was talking on the phone with a platonic female friend who would become my future wife, before we started dating, when the topic came up that we should go out on a date. I don't even remember who brought it up first, but to this day I distinctly remember the feeling of some firm hands grasping my shoulders from behind me when the subject came up. It was a surreal experience, as there was no one else in the room. I took it as a sign from a higher source.

The marriage unfortunately didn't last, but I received the two most important things in my life from that relationship: my son and daughter. The divorce was not an easy one for me or the children, but God helped get me through it with flying colors. And he will come through for you, too.

For me it was during a time of unrelented anger. The hand touched my left shoulder ever so softly and then the warmth and compasion kicked in. Next thing I knew I was on my knees crying like a little child. To this day I still cry at the drop of a hat. It tought me that I was human and it was ok to have emotions. I'm strong enough to know it take a man to cry in public. I don't care what others think. I know me and I know what I've learned over life. The most important thing is that it's ok to show emotions, no matter who or what you are. I will never forget the first really serious med calls I was asigned when I became registered as a First Medical Responder. One was a stroke paitent whose wife was trying to comfort him. Over 100 degrees F. and he starts to get combative. He doesn't know what's going on but his wife thinks everything will be alright if we leave him alone. It took an ambulance crew of 4 plus two of OKCFD personal to keep him straped down for transport. These are not small people by any means. Fire Fighters have all of my respect. The 4 other officers with me had let a crowd of about 60 people gather around so they could all watch the "man twitching on the ground". In one sentence I had the area cleared and then he pucked up a lung full of blood and sputem all over me. He was alright but did suffer a sever stroke. But he's alive. The second was a little 14 year old who had a asamath attack. sorry for spelling. Her mom kept yelling for her to just pass out she didn't deserve an ambulance. Long story short The little girl was rescued and the mom was sent on her way. Life sucks sometimes but it's God that gives us the strength to help others.

And with that you are very blessed my friend. I've never been able to have children. Was married for 12 years and with Tresa for 17 years now. That part of life passed me by.

Never too late to adopt. My son isnt my biological son but neither he or his mom knows who the father was. She was on the streets battling a mental illness and was a rape victim.

I refuse to call him my stepson as that implies that he's somehow lesser and threatened to disown my own brother because he said he wasnt my real son.I told him he ever said that again then I didnt have a brother and I meant it.

I love that kid with my all my heart and couldnt have gotten a better son if I had hand picked him out of a catalog.

Zapped with the elderly care that has to be provided in this home every day I wish I could have a child. Her mom is 72 and had a stroke.
She has the mind of a three year old. I can't handle anymore than that and she has her plate full everyday. But God bless you for what you have done. To make a difference in a life. A better difference. I'll only take on as much as I can care for. People need love and attention just like pets. At times we arn't much different than pets. All we want is love and affection. A caring touch. A soft voice. A warm bed, a dry place to sleep.

If you need inspiration look at the drummer guy from def leppard. Guy lost his arm and still rocks. Pour some sugar on all of us.

LOL sorry but I go with Jethro Tull any time. I can get all I need from the Christmas song. And also the other Christmas song. Want a good laugh then go with "Here Come The Mummies". Pants, Weiner Man, Booty, Sugar, Big Horn band that will rock your socks off. Check em out. Got the songs going in my head right now.
