Here's the little adapter that comes with my protanks to use on small ego battery. It's not necessary, but it helps it to not get snapped off from being top heavy. I chose a pic of a bling one so you can see it better

I'm so glad you guys all have such a good sense of humor! It makes it easier for me to admit when I make a blunder, and hopefully I'll learn from each mistake.

BINKIE! I love it! Mine are going to be called binkies now, too, because at a little over one week in, I rarely let them out of my sight! LOL! But I thought I'd be happy with non-flashy, non-ostentatious black. NOW I WANT A BINKIE WITH BLING!!!! Just these past couple of days, I've been surreptitiously looking at different replacement batteries - in colors! They're not that expensive, and with the money we won't have to spend on my monstrous cigarette habit this month, maybe I SHOULD get a couple more batteries. IN COLORS. Yeah, I think so!

(I am NOT going to be a gadget freak, I am NOT going to be a gadget freak, I am NOT ... right.)

But I like girly things sometimes, too. Being a "farmer" and dealing with cows and poop and chickens and poop and poop and poop... I don't always look (or smell! LOL!) the part, but sometimes I feel like doing something girly. I'll tell Rich I need some bling or I'll be ever so unhappy and morose. (D'ya think he'll go for it, being such a Scrooge and all?) You guys back me up, OK? ;)

Lol...bling and girly are NECESSARY!!!!

OK, that first pic you posted is what the top of my battery looks like. So it has both kinds of threads, or is that bit on top with the 510 threads on the inside the "adapter?" Hopefully, my itty bitty mini protanks won't be too topheavy, but I guess we'll see.

Where do you get the bling stuff to put on those, by the way? I HAVE TO KNOW! LOL!

Also, I wanted to bring this post^^^ back up. Yesterday those wouldn't open for me, but today they do. So looking at that chart, the 1.8 ohm SHOULD have worked on my battery. Unless it's the mah on mine that was too low. Is that it? Because 1.8 ohms intersects 3.7 volts, right on the edge, but still in the green. What I cannot seem to get through my thick skull is when I was trying to use that Aspire, I was getting almost no vapor and it seemed "cold," however the chart says it borders on "hot." And my husband tried it a few times and said he wasn't having a problem with it (he was getting vapor just fine), so maybe I just have a defective sucker. ROFLMAO!

My "sweet spot" seems to be 2.5 ohms at the 3.7 volts on my battery. I guess it's all very individual, eh?

OH! And something else I just read has me puzzled also. Somebody please 'splain me this: When I ordered this beginner kit, I could have sworn it was talking about having 510 threads, and that any tank with 510 threads would work on it, but I just looked up the tanks (plain ol' Kanger EVOD) and it says they're e-Go threads and NOT compatible with anything with 510 threads without an adapter. I think. Gosh I feel like I have bees in my brain. Anyway, all this time I've been thinking I need something with 510 threads, and the Aspire tanks are 510 threaded, and they fit right on there. The mini protanks I think ALSO said they were 510 threaded, and Mt. Baker told me they'd fit on my battery OK, too. What am I missing here? There's something I'm not "getting" yet. If the tanks I have aren't 510 threads, then my battery must not be 510 threads, meaning the Aspire and the mini protank tanks shouldn't fit. Right? Where have I gone off the road?

Thanks for being patient with me. :)

I recommend a variable voltage battery like the istick for you. You can get colorful covers/skins, and you can set the wattage to whatever you like for the different level ohm coils that you prefer. Everything I use has a 510 connection whether it be a Protank or my sub-ohm to dripper style atomizers. I haven't used ego style tanks in ages since they gave me so many problems. Hope you find what your looking for! Vape on!

I like having universal connections. Makes my life much less complicated!

Lannie,

If you want a pretty color (and get a nice upgrade to a variable voltage/variable wattage device at the same time), you should go with the Coolfire 4. Comes in a pretty purple or amethyst. Just under 4 inches tall, will have double the battery life of your eGo battery, and will work with your current tanks, your Nautilus tanks, and even subohm tanks should you ever advance to that.

They may look a little bigger than a typical stick battery, but they are actually extremely comfortable to hold in your hand and it feels smaller in person. When I first started upgrading from stick batteries, I was very apprehensive about hold a big old box mod. Once I actually held one in person, the apprehension went away. With the smaller mods like the iSticks and the Coolfire, once you have it in your hand and have your hand and fingers wrapped around it, they basically disappear and they can be as "stealthy" as holding a stick battery unless you have very small hands. To put it into perspective, they are about half the size of a pack of 100's cigarettes.

Well, I've quit on a little 650 mah EVOD. Hubby's iStick 30 will be here Monday and I know he's looking forward to it, and of course, I'll check it out as well. Who knows? I might like it better? Right now I have experience with ONE device, the one I'm using, but it's keeping me from even THINKING about having a smoke, so it's all good. :)

I wasn't familiar with the iClear so I had to look it up, but they sound like a great deal! And colors, so I can have different flavors in each one and not get them mixed up! I should get some of those, too!

Hmm, I mean you could go the route of getting tanks to fit your battery, but that little Kanger Evod 650mAh (to be completely honest) isn't going to last you very long. Those Ego style batteries (while they can be used for a while) aren't the most reliable things in the bunch. Additionally, because they're a fixed voltage, it really hinders the styles of tanks you can put on top of it.

I think the OP got a box of bad coils in the clearos.

I vape all day on evods, fixed at 3.7v with 1.8ohm, 2.2ohm and 2.5ohm coils(the latter for delicate fruit flavors)....and they heat up well and give a great vape.

3.7volts with a 1.8ohm coil is actually a combo that is used by millions.

That combo give me almost 8 watts, which is more than enough for me. I actually prefer 6 or 7.

Only other thing it could be is battery is not charged to max or is old and dying and not putting out the voltage anymore

Maybe I had a bad coil? I'm trying to remember if I tried ALL the tanks or just one. Maybe the other ones were OK, and I just picked the bad one to try? The batteries are only 2 weeks old, and the one I was using was fully charged a couple hours before (these last me 10 to 14 hours, usually). Maybe I should try a different one on the fully charged battery and see if it makes a difference. Well, I guess it's a moot point anyway now, because I got the mini Protanks for mine, and Rich is going to use the Aspires with the 1.8 ohm coils on his iStick.

It would be worth investigating, though. Thanks!
