I think I may have some fairly easy questions...

I've been out of the loop for a few years and would like to get back into vaping. The battery I have is a Joytech spinner 900mah and a KGO battery that is also 900mah. I just can't remember what the ohm is on the clearomizer. I was using the CE 3 bottom single coil clearomizer (which I loved) and which they no longer sell so I am looking at

Kanger EVOD single bottom coil with a 2.1 ohm coil or the

Kanger EVOD 2 dual bottom coil with a 1.5 ohm coil

What is the difference between the two? I've been reading for days, and can't seem to find a definitive answer to this question. There must be a difference in vaping or what will or won't work with my batteries.

The kanger is an ego style so I am assuming I can use it with these batteries--correct?

Any help would so appreciated. I am getting bleary eyed. V.

Both will work fine. Evod 2 has a dual coil and can be pushed harder to produce, meaning you'll be able to use it on other ego-compatible devices when you upgrade. It has better draw and much better vapor and flavor production. I still have three of'em.

And six Evod originals. And six iClear16's...

Mt. Baker has all of these for under $5 I think. They will all work with your batteries.

You will be amazed how technology has grown in just the last two years.

I know, I know. I've been reading for days. I think I own a dinosaur. I understood that dual coils were much hotter and had a tendency to "burn" the liquid. Is that not the case?

Could you give me an example of an upgraded ego compatible device? I really liked my simple set up and it got me off the cigs--that is until I got overwhelmingly stressed--but I am curious as to what would be the next step up to my 900 mah batteries.

If you want to stick with the eGo form factor, there are variable voltage units ranging from 650mah to 1100mah. They let you select the output voltage up to 4.8v.

There are a couple of tube mods available. One's on sale now at Mr. E-liquid for $7.50. I haven't tried it yet--ordered it yesterday.

Aspire CF Mod

Another is the Vamo. I honestly don't know who still sells those, but the V7 is the latest one with a good rep.

The rage nowadays is the box mod. There are literally dozens to choose from. I settled on an Eleaf Pico, that can be had for less than $30. Those don't take eGo tanks without an adapter (that wrecks the aesthetics). I like the Pico for its small form factor and versatility.

Here's a pic of one of my Pico's and Vamo's (using a 18350 battery) from about two weeks or so ago. Pico is on the left with a Smok Baby Beast tank. That's a little cloud machine. Vamo has an old Protank II on it.

I bought 7 when MBV had them on clearance. Those and the minis is what started my vaping and I still use them!

I like it a lot. It really is a cloud machine. But it can never successfully masquerade as a mouth to lung tank. The coils really need lots of air and wattage to produce something you can taste. That's why I prefer the Subtank Mini. That's a versatile tank.

I bought 3 STM thinking it was going to be the tank to replace my protank 2... hated them. I ended up trying kayfuns ( too many parts) and I finally tried the nectar and love them. Own 7. I do still use my egos and PT's for going out.

Many thanks for your pics and suggestions. I loved my little 900 mah batteries with my little CE3 bottom coil clearomizers. I'm not a vaping monster so actually a 900 lasted me all day, and I would recharge it overnight. I can't seem to get fired up over the mods. I want something that reminds me of smoking a cigarette not smoking an actual cigarette pack...lol. I found this nice little set up that I may invest in once I get back into the groove of things...Kanger EVOD 2 Starter Kit
Okay, I spoke (wrote too soon) I thought a "mod" was the name of the little square batteries. But then I looked at the Aspire one you referred to that is on sale, and I don't understand the difference between that an the Joytech "spinner" I have that is a 900 mah and has the variable up to 480. Is it just that the mod has a longer lasting battery, but the variable settings are the same? What would you use for a clearomizer--could I use the kanger or I'd really like a pyrex one or as you said I could use any ego compatible clearomizer. I did just find this article that was published just this past March which seemed right up my alley. Best Atomizer Tanks and Clearomizers of 2017 , but the mod thing has confused me. What about sub ohm, throat to lung experience--ah gawd! Is this a much better deal than that starter kit I listed above? I have to go back and reread your post....

I own a evod kit and I really enjoyed it. I would caution you about charging over night though. If need to buy another and charge while your at home. Also another good thing is to place the batteries in a metal pan or a casserole dish. If you enjoy what your using, stock up on them. I liked how small and thin they are because it does remind me of smoking. I only upgraded because I needed more battery life for the withdrawal I had when I quit smoking.

I'm gonna break this up to answer (best I can) each question.

That's a nice kit and several people here own one or more. Here's the same kit for a good bit less.

Kanger EVOD PRO V2 All-in-one Starter Kit

There's nothing wrong with a long cylindrical kit if that's what you're interested in. They're actually very good performers and mimic cigarette smoking. Almost all of the larger manufacturers offer at least one. It's all about personal preference.

Okay, I spoke (wrote too soon) I thought a "mod" was the name of the little square batteries. The term "mod" came about when people modified other devices to build their own e-cig. The term is used to describe almost anything other than the thin, pen-like devices you have. The CF Mod I linked to is thicker, about 7/8" diameter. It takes an external battery and you'll need to buy separate batteries and a charger for them. The batteries (you'll want two) and charger will cost more than the device.

It has threading for tanks like yours and mine. Yours are eGo threaded. Most of mine are 510 threaded but I have eGo toppers, too. That CF Mod takes either.

I did just find this article that was published just this past March which seemed right up my alley. Best Atomizer Tanks and Clearomizers of 2017 , but the mod thing has confused me. Read top 10 lists with a grain of salt. A lot of those articles are "sponsored" by manufacturers to gin up sales. Doesn't mean its not good gear. Just that the objectivity is... well... maybe there, maybe not.

In time, you'll get the hang of the lingo. It's not hard.
MTL - Mouth to lung, like smoking a cig
DL - Direct to lung, like inhaling through a straw
sub ohm - coils with resistance less than 1.0 ohm. Need experience before delving in

Mount Baker Vapor has the innokin svd 2.0 (dna 20) mod, I believe that is something similar to the Vamo.. (?) Anyway, it's on clearance for 20 bucks.. not bad.

(I did buy one for my vapocalypse stash, they work fine.. takes flat tops)
