I think I might be pretty sick.

Last night I choked on my food and it would not go down at all. This has happened before but never to this extent. My throat went into what felt like convulsions and what was in my throat basically forced itself out through my nose and mouth.

After that I still had a huge lump in my throat and could not eat or drink anything. And every five minutes would have to go to the bathroom and gag myself to get the saliva that was built up in my throat so the lump wouldnt feel even bigger.

Today my stomach hurts like I have been punched or something. I usually eat pretty healthy portions throughout the day. I mean I dont overeat or anything (I may sometimes but it is not a habbit) I normally eat regular portions or a little more then a regular portion.

But today I could only eat 3 granola bars, and a half a bowl of tomato soup all day long. And I only drank 2 bottled waters and a small glass of milk. And my stomach feels pretty full like I just ate a large meal.

I am starting to get pretty worried, and of have white coat syndrome very VERY bad. (When I was 10, doctors came out and told me and everyone around me that my dad was going to die even if they cut his leg off.) I was ten and had doctors saying these things right in front of me. And ever since then I have had a serious problem with doctors and cannot clearly and accurately describe my feelings and symptoms to them.

Anyone else had this problem? Have any ideas what it could be?

I hear ya clownfish, take your spokesman with.
I am deathly under stress with dentists, huge panic. But my dentist makes a note in my file about it, so a good Doc will do the same thing so they can do an effective work-around. Just be honest with them, they'll get it, but you definitely need to get checked out ASAP, let us know!

I not only clam up around them but the panic attacks I get around them are unreal. I seriously cant breath in hospitals. I will probably end up going but I will have to get a family member to go with me.

Yes have a family member or friend go with you and call them right now if you have not already.

Sounds as if you're having an anaphylactic (allergic) reaction to something. Get yourself into a HOSPITAL A.S.A.P. WHEN this is occuring. Sometimes it's difficult to tell what's happenED to a patient. MUCH better if it's still happenING.

Trust me, I'm a paramedic.

Difficult to give a proper diagnosis when someone's telling you what happened a few days ago. How long does this last for? Sounds like you would have had some time to get yourself into an ER.

Stress regarding going to see a doctor is pretty much irrelevent when you're in the morque.

Sorry to sound 'harsh', but I'm speaking the truth. Good luck to you and feel free to contact me ANYTIME.

Well a little update. I went to the doctor for the first time in years. She is setting me up with a specialist to have a GI endoscope done. I asked her to be straight with me and tell me what it could or couldnt be or I wasnt going to go.
She said it could be GERD,Ulcers,Hiatal hernia,Esophageal cancer (really hoping not that one)etc etc.. Or something as simple as really bad heart burn.
Thanks for all the support everyone! It is greatly appreciated! And helped me get the nerve to make an appointment.
