Well my appointment is on the 6th of april. So have alot of anticipating to do. I just have to not think about it at all until the appointment comes. If I think about it too much by the time it is here I will have psyched myself into not going at all. Thanks everyone for the encouragement, support, and tough love! It helps. :)

Nope, im not gonna back out. At least I hope not and dont intend to. Just gotta not think about it and just let the days go until I can get in to see the specialist. Kinda weird only eating soups and anything soft.
Dont really like it. But I dont want to choke again like I did. And my throat still feels off, the Doc said it was probably from having the food or whatever it was stuck in there and will stop feeling funny in a few days.
So I am just taking it easy, eating soup and anything that is soft and mushy. Only drinking 1 or 2 cans of pop a day. That in itself is saying a LOT. I used to drink entirely too much pop. If it is esophageal cancer it is nothing but my own damned fault.
Thanks Domino! :)

More than welcome! And yes, PLEASE cut down on the pop! Happened to a friend of mine.

Please keep in mind that, because you asked your MD to 'give it to me straight', they're going to give you EVERY possibility. Right up to the REALLY BAD.

Keep positive, if they don't think it was an allergic reaction, could have been a reaction to the PG!

Remember, you asked for the worst possible case scenario, your MD provided it. Chances are, it's minor and we're ALL rooting for you!

Really REALLY bummed out right now. Kind of. Somethin told me to smoke an analog so I did, about an hour to two hours ago. My throat no longer feels like it is closing up on me and my stomach doesnt hurt nearly as bad as it did. I guess Im going to smoke all day tomorrow and not vape at all to see if that helps at all.

So far, in about two hours it is easier to swallow and my stomach pains are dissipating. REALLY hoping I dont have an allergy to PG or VG or something. I DONT want to start smoking again. Not at ALL! Weird thing is I didnt vape or smoke for about 2 hours and my throat and stomach stayed the same, but soon after I smoked an analog I started feeling better. Does smoking "cover up" any know illnesses?

Well, the doc said he thinks it is narrowing of the esophagus. He scheduled a scope and a dilation of my esophagus for the 8th. Not going to be able to make that due to my wifes schedule for her hip. She has waited over a year for her stuff so I see it as more important. The doc also prescribed something for Irritable bowl syndrome.
Not sure if I like the doc or not. I mean, how can you come to a conclusion about someones throat or esophagus without even looking in their throat?!?!?8-o
He didnt even look inside my throat to see if anything was swollen or anything. Im not sure I would want this doctor doing my scope any ways. That just doesnt seem very thorough to me at all.
I guess my insurance only pays him to talk to me the first appointment.

Yeah, this guy kept interrupting me, seemed annoyed when I explained what tourettes syndrome was and interrupted me saying "i know what it is" then proceeded to ask me how to spell it. I told him the wrong way just to see if he wrote it wrong or was being a smart .... He spelled it wrong.

It was completely off the subject but he asked if I had any medical conditions and I consider that a medical condition. He just seemed real short and not thorough at all and I dont think I want someone like him sticking a camera down my throat. Every person that walked out of the office before I went in seemed depressed and looked like they felt degraded. I thought it was just people not feeling well but could tell after meeting the doctor that it was probably because of him.

And why do doctors keep prescribing me things with side effects of Difficulty swallowing?!?!?!?! I tell them I am uncomfortable and can barely swallow and I get prescribed things that cause just that. I think I am just going to make changes to my diet and my habbits and see if I can change anything. It's obviously not that bad or they would have rushed me into surgery or something.

I do feel a little better today. I think I will see if my family doctor will refer me to someone else. All this right before my wife has to have pretty much a hip replacement surgery.
