Hi all,

I'm still new to this but here is what I've learned so far:

All of these variations are with the same battery (Aspire Sub Ohm) so that's a constant throughout.

Aspire Atlantis with stock coil- damn near unusable for me. If I take the size draw I want, it throws me into a coughing fit. If I take the size draw I can handle, I don't feel satisfied. Great flavor though. Air flow is best for me on the most air, but it still sits mostly unused.

Aspire ETS with stock 1.8 ohm coil- I can take the draw I want but flavor is weak at best.

Kanger Aero tank 2 with stock 1.8 ohm coil- Great flavor. No coughing. Even with the air flow set for the most air, it seemed a bit restricted- the draw wasn't as easy as the Aspire ETS.

Kanger Aero tank 2 with 1 ohm coil- Eureka!!! Great flavor, draws like the ETS. Nearly perfect- except, does anyone make a bigger tank for it? 2.5 ml is a bit small.

I'm always open to suggestions.

You may want to try out the new Kanger Subtank Mini, it will be a 22mm tank that should fit nicely on your Aspire sub ohm battery.

I have the full size 25mm SUBTANK, and the flavor is spot on, better than the Atlantis, or any other clearomizer I've tried (aerotank v2 included).

Reason why I think you may like it is it doesn't quite have the same volume of vapor vs the Atlantis, I would think that should help prevent the "coughing fit".

The subtank mini will hold 4.5 ml of juice so that should also make you happy.

Well, after trying this for a day, I think it's darn near perfect.

The only downside? Either I'm enjoying my vape more (I most definitely am) or this setup is a juice hog. And while I like the idea of the Subtank Mini for the extra capacity, I wonder if the Subtank will perform the same? I wouldn't want to change a thing performance wise.

Now I'm on a mission to find a great ADV that I can buy in large quantity at a reasonable price. I really like Atmos Island Rum, but want even more Rum flavor. I'm curious about Mt. Baker Vapor's Rum juice. Maybe with the extra flavor shots....

I would think the performance would be better on your battery since it kind of acts like a mech (starts at 4.2v and gets lower with battery drain). They use .5o organic cotton coils, so you'd definitely be getting more vapor production on your mod ~35w power output on a full charge vs ~17w power with the 1o coil. (It is less in practice, those batteries don't output 4.2v but that is what I used for approximate wattage calculations).

The flavor from cotton vs silica wick kanger uses in their normal dual coils is night and day better IMO.

Anther thought which wouldn't require a new tank would be to try the .8ohm coil next time you order coils. They are the same as the 1o coil just lower resistance so you'd be at ~22w on a full charge with your battery.

If you're happy with aero tank and it keeps you off the analogs then there is nothing wrong with that.

As cliche as this is, I really like Nana cream from bombies, which is reasonably priced to me, 120ml for $50, or $.42/ml. A lot cheaper than juice from my local B&M, depending on the place some juices are almost $1/ml.

Right behind you...
What mg nicotine are you hitting with the Atlantis?

If you're running 12mg or higher, try running some 6mg or 3mg, and try heavier VG blends, since PG is more harsh and can irritate, and with the better atomization, you don't need to go as PG heavy to get good flavor.

The sub-ohm toppers vaporize the heck out of your juice, so you're essentially getting a much stronger, effective hit, more of that nic is being absorbed making for a rougher hit, and combine that with a heavy PG blend makes it even more harsh.

I pretty much had to give away or cut down my 12-18mg juices when I started sub-ohm vaping, the strongest I use now is 6mg and that's when I need a quick nic after not vaping for awhile, when I hit like a smoke break. For chain vaping at home or in the car, it's 3mg all the way. Mellow, and satisfying.

What you have discovered is your best vape experience is in the 15 watt range which is where your at with the 1 ohm coil.

With the stock Atlantis your getting about 35 watts on a fully charged battery which is at or very near the top for that tank and probably a lot warmer vape than your used to.

On the others with 1.8 ohm coils your only getting 9.8 watts which is a little weak and again that with a fully charged battery. As the battery gets used the wattage will drop to around 7 which will provide a pretty weak vape.

I'd bet that if you were to try a variable wattage (regulated) device and set the wattage to 15 to 20 you'd find you like the vape more from the others and it will stay consistent throughout the battery from full to fully discharged.

HiFi, I love my Kanger V2's with the 1.0 ohm coils (had to put the .8's in a box until I get the iStick 50 watt it'll sub ohm) but Ed because he's gone all day at work uses the Megas same as the V2's but with a large lasts all work day tank :)

(3.8ml but Ed uses a cotton swab when filling and then have the coil push it out so you can get it all the way full)

glad you have a satisfying vape..that's what it's all about!! :)

I agree. I started with 12mg in the Atlantis and it was way too strong. I'm now using 6 and it works well.

Well, this explains a lot. Thanks everyone!

I am running 18-24 strength nicotine, as I have tried and failed to quit analogs in the past. My thinking was to go as strong as possible and then cut down the nicotine level over time. I didn't know that there is an optimum level of nicotine for the tank used. I just told the guy at the vape shop that I wanted something "good" and he recommended the Atlantis. Although I am electronics savvy (hence my screen name) I wanted something "plug and play."

To anyone looking at the Atlantis, do not go strong as far as nicotine. It reminded me of my college days, and later when I managed a stereo store, if you know what I mean. Definite "hack attack." Wink wink.

I also like the idea of saving money on top of all of the other benefits, so I wasn't attracted to the "better" adjustable batteries. I've figured out that my closest local shop is very high priced comparing to buying online. But I wanted it right then, and it got me on the right path, so that's fine. I'm getting ready to finish my 16th day without analogs. I'm rather proud of myself- 2 packs of Marlboro Lights daily to none.

Congrats man, that is the important part, stayin off them stinkies.

I didn't even think to ask what nic level you were using, oops. 24mg in an Atlantis would probably make me hack up a lung, get dizzy, and fall over.

Thanks. A full draw on the Atlantis with high octane juice, and I hacked so badly that I almost puked. So, I was doing little baby draws. Still made it until i bought something that worked for me. I must be determined.

Well HiFi, 18 to 24 Nic in an Atlantis would be one for only the most hardened user. Honestly I would be looking for a different vape shop if the same one that sold you the Atlatis with a Sub-Ohm battery also sold you the high nic juice, they obviously know very little about vaping and are only looking for sales not success.

I normally use 12mg in cartomizers, regular tanks etc. but in my Atlantis, Kanger Subtank or drippers I use 3 mg and get the same effect. I did run out of my favorite 3mg one day and only had 12mg juice on hand so tried dripping that which instantly sent me on a head spinning nic buzz, not a good feeling.

16 days without an analogue is an accomplishment, you should be very proud of yourself for it!
