I like my mod. The battery on it is insane but.... It leaks.... Really seriously a major turn off. I want something simpler, but long lasting. I am thinking about picking me up an Ego-T. I don't know much about them. I skipped right over them from 510s to mods... I don't want to be refilling all the time or charging all the time. What can I expect from an Ego-T?

The eGo-c would be a better choice. While I didn't have many problems with the t, many here reported leaking problems with the t. It seemed to run hotter and hot ejuice loses viscosity. Many solved their leaks using the silicone 'soft caps' on the tanks.

The eGo-t attys are not 'modular' like the eGo-c. If an atty goes you have to buy a new t atomizer - @$10-12. With the eGo-c, if the coil burns out, you only need to replace the 'atty head' - a small unit that contains the coil and connections that goes for $4-5 each.

Also the batteries on the eGo-c have new and improved (actually ;) ) short and charge protection. The 650mAh batt will give you about 6 hours of vaping - ymmv. The 1000mAh will give you @10 hrs - ymmv, however the length on the 1000 is considerably longer than the 650. There are 900mAh - 9 hrs - available at some vendors but again, get the Joye eGo-c version. It's only a bit longer than the 650mAh batt, and only one hour less than the 1000 - if you need more time, imo, the 900 is the better choice for length and balance. They're harder to find.... I still prefer the sleeker look of the 650.

The attys come in two types 'type A' - which is 1.2ml in volume and cone shaped,

and 'type B' which is 2.5ml in volume and cylinder shaped.

There are other vendors but with the eGo you want to get the genuine 'Joye' product. Clones don't have the new batt protections and in most cases are inferior in some manner to the Joye. Cignot is a Joye vendor.

Also suggest starting with the SR (standard resistance) attys 2.2Ω vs. the LR (low resistance) attys 1.8Ω

recommend getting the standard resistance attys to start, not the LR's.

+1 for getting a joyetech branded ego battery, my 1000mah is great, button always clicks nicely.
I recently bought a 900mah smoktek ego for someone & the quality is subpar compared to joye. Same price too.
I use mine w/ 510 LR (1.7ohm) single coil xl cartos, never tried the tank system. Even with the LR cartos the 1000mah last almost 7 hours I think, i have backups so I never pay attention to the time.

Ok can I sneak in a soopid question here? Ego-T & Ego-C; if I'm using cartomizers/clearomizers or tanks with cartos, are the actual batteries exactly the same?
Yes, the threading is the same, 510 with extra threading to use a cone or a short plinth(I think that's what they are called?) to support a tank, etc.

The threading is the same and the size is a tad different because of the extra short and charge protection in the eGo-c - the c is less than 1/16" longer than the t.

All eGo type batts also have the 'cone threading' as 'Underwhelmed" mentioned. So when buying cartos there is sometimes a choice between the eGo type that has a 'skirt' to either screw on or cover the cone threading. Heres the EMDCC (eGo mega dual coil carto):

... where the 'skirt' is hiding the batt connection :)

vs. DCC meant for 510 connections without the cone threading:

... where the threads are fully exposed.

Some cartos are just in the last type and there are adapters that are sold to make the connection more aesthetic. Various names short cones, 510 to eGo adapters, etc.

Wow I feel schooled! I appreciate it immensely! It does help narrow down the options so I can see the pros and cons. I too read some leaking reviews. I am also a cartomizer fan. I never had the 510t leak, but as you can imagine it is not a good all day pv for me.... It works well for some and sure has its uses. I am just looking for less fiddling!
