I think I want a REO, but do I need one?

The flavor comparison would be to dripping; but always and only dripping 3 drops (once your wick is wet).

. . . . . . but never dripping

What's the difference?

I found, when I was dripping, that if I only did 3 drops at a time, I'd always get superfresh peak flavor. If I dripped 10-15 drops, the flavor would get cooked off the juice that was pooled in the atty. (admittedly, I vape a pretty low resistance build). Try it, see if you find a difference. It's a PITA for actual vaping; but on your next fresh build, see what the flavor is like if you do that for a little session. If you notice a difference, that's closer to what the REO is like. If not . . . . . . maybe not a benefit you will experience (?)

when I started this thread I was secretly hoping to see for myself that I didn't needed one, but I guess my mind was set well before on getting the grand. but still I can't justify it! I'll keep lurking on the classies hoping to find a good deal.

$200 is a bit steep for me to get the grand/rm2 and a few extras

$200 does seem steep. But once you have it, you've got it for YEARS (literally, see my sig, and there are others here that got a REO way before I did and are still using them).

Then consider you can rebuild/rewick the RM2 for about 3-5 pennies, they last weeks. Now when I used attys, I bought bulk for a tad under $5.00 each and got *maybe* 10-14 days from them.

If you REALLY want to save, you can get unflavored nic juice for around $45 per litre.

I figure the combination of REO grand, RM2 and unflavored nic juice cost me roughly 25 cents a week.

"Need" is a subjective thing, you don't really "need" to eat either, but it makes things (living) last so much longer than not doing it, and it's far more enjoyable. My instincts tell me if you're asking the question, the decision is already made. But if justification is what you seek, just look at all the vape related stuff you have, then imagine having ONLY REO+RM2, a few spare batteries, and a bottle of ejuice :)

You "took a chance" with most of the vape gear you currently have, give a REO+RM2 a shot, if it's not all you expect and then some, it'll sell on the classies for just about what you paid for it. I think I remember a REO staying on the classies for 3 days...once :) 99% probability is, your current vape gear is what will wind up in the classies.

Just save for it a little at a time. Put a little aside every paycheck. That's how I got mine (well...I ate canned Ravioli for lunch for a month but the concept is the same).
