I think my E cig is defective

just got my new e cig in the mail. let it charge for six hours pressed the button and it does not light up. its hot from being on the charger. tried screwing the clearo on and hitting the button to see if i could hear the coil popping still nothing. even tried vaping and nothing no vapor. help please. its an ego battery

You could try moving the center pin of the battery up slightly with a small screwdriver (careful!). Perhaps it's not making contact with the clearo.

Could be a bad connection. You can very carefully pull the contact on the battery up just a tiny bit by using a tiny screwdriver of similar tool by gently going around the contact and prying up on it. Make sure it's turned off and BE VERY GENTLE with it.

Just a thing to add about the five clicks. Are you doing five fast clicks to turn it on? If you are too slow it won't activate it. It may be defective though if it is hot from the charger. My egos are always cool after charging, never hot.

Does the button blink when you plug in the charger? If the button doesn't light up it's probably defective. Contact the vendor. If they have a return policy that is.

Button will still not light up if the center post is pushed up, won't connect to charger. Attempt adjusting center pin, and the priority i'd say... Try another plug! (Also, verify that the charger even works, could potentially be a charger issue, no charging, no lights, no vape)

ok tried moving the center pin nothing... the ego battery does not light up when first connected to the charger but the charger light come on and stays red. also the battery was hot when i removed it from the charger after letting it sit for six hours so im pretty sure the outlet im using works fine. i think all in all I just received a dud thank you for all the great advice everyone. ill be contacting the vendor to try and get a replacement

Well, that stinks-

It's not a bad idea to pick up a multimeter. You can check your battery, clearo, even your charger with one.
