I'm gonna have to get a Kgo! I'm getting into a little 2 month mark rough patch where a craving for an analog has popped up here and there. And I'm getting really tired of charging 808 batts. The cig look a like thing served its purpose, but its time to move up!

My question, tho, is this: I have heard rave reviews and great things about the Kgo. So, since I know a lot of the pros, how about cons? When it gets here, what should I watch out for or be careful of?

I plan to stick with cartomizers for the time being. Though I have considered trying a clearomizer, just to see (no pun intended lol) but I may do that on my 808.

Thanks! You all rock! :D

The only con I can think of is that it is not VV. But seriously, it is a great battery in the ego clone class and you can now use low resistance cartos. Boge 2.0 ohm and Smoktech 1.7 ohm should work great. If you decide to try CE2 Clearos, 2.4 or 2.6 ohm work great on them. The Stardust should also work great and look pretty nice on a KGo.

The only con is that, like all the eGo clones, it's basically a disposable unit. You get two in a kit and they last about 4 months or so, but they do wear out and you have to toss them. Replacements cost about $15-20.

If you want what is basically the same thing, you can get an e-Power. It is just like a kGo, except it takes replaceable batteries. There are 2 sizes. One is a big 18650 that'll last you for days, and the other is a smaller unit, a 16-something IIRC. The e-Power is priced about the same as the kGo, around $45. E-Power kits come with 2 batteries and when they wear out, you replace them for about $5 or so. If you travel, you can carry spare batteries and not worry about charging them when you're away. Also, the switch is replaceable so you don't have to toss the whole thing out if the switch gives you any problem.

Other than the disposable nature of the kGo, it is my #2 recommendation, behind the e-Power, for anyone upgrading from a cigarette looking PV.

Now, lets sit back and wait for the Provari fanboys to chime in. Shouldn't be long now.

I second what Stef said. I'm loving the LR cartos on my ego battery! I'm still new, though, and certain I will be wanting to try VV soon, since that's where all the hype seems to be.

As of now, I have filled about 20 cartos with different flavors of juices, most in 18mg, but two in 24mg. This way, it's a simple switch to change out the flavors, if I get bored, and I can easily increase the nic dose if I have an urge for an analog.

The LR cartos have way better flavor than the tanks, are easy to fill, and last a long time.

Provari fanboy checking in... Hahah jk. Seriously, the provari is great but definately not needed for newer vapers. I went from the joye 510 to the ego to the lavatube, and now have a provari. Like others have said, egos are great but they are somewhat disposable. I always recommend something that utilizes a replaceable battery. This way, you don't have to charge your whole pv. Alls you do is put in charged batteries and vape away. Heard good things about the epower. Also consider some smaller mods like reo mini, lavatube mini, silver bullet etc. So many choices to choose from. Good luck

I love my kgo batts. They work just fine with cartos or clearomizers. I do recommend LR cartos, as it seems to provide a bit more depth of flavor on the kgos for me.

I will recommend strongly not charging it on anything other than a kgo charger, however. The ego chargers don't seem to do anywhere near as well at charging them as the kgo ones do, nevermind the fact that they visually are identical. Why this is, I don't know.

Wow, how hard are you guys hitting the eGo sized PV s. I still have, and use all three kits I bought. They are now over 15 months old. One kit is a joye ego"t" pair which still works , the other two are much less expensive clones. The clones where always favorites of mine so they have seen easily double the use of the ego. I am a maintenace nut, I clean and inspect the threads regularly and have not had one misfire through the last year+ . I did have one battery fail, while charging(inside 30 days) and it was replaced by my vendor promptly. But thats the only problem I have had with them ever. As of lately they have been sitting around not doing much because I built myself a mod as my Vapiversary present.... But I can say they are all charged and at the ready should I require them.
As far as the Original Poster's question goes ..... For the usb battery charger it is advisable to use the wall port for charging, thats not to say it couldn't be used in an adaptor for the car but try to avoid connecting it to the computer or your radio(If equipped with usb) the approxamately 500mAh draw could be an issue for usb devices not intended for high power output.
Good Luck. Happy Vaping.

eGo advertises on their own site that their batteries last a moderate vapor approx 3-5 months. That wouldn't change very much between a 650 and 1000mah battery and it's been confirmed by a lot of vapers. If you have 3 kits, thats 6 batteries, so yours don't get the typical use. Plus, that's 3-5 months each, so if you rotate, you can probably get close to a year.

I just ordered a Lava Tube knock off kit for 69.99 with 20% off from apollo e cigs for being a new costumer. If you think your ready for that it could be cost a cost effective option. I was so happy to find out about that deal here on ECF Like the above posters said you just replace the battery and not the unit. Good luck and happy vaping.

Those apollo V-tube kits are a deal. The 20% off coupon was supposed to expire on 3/25. If it's still in effect it's the best deal on Lavatubes on the net. If I didn't already have one, I'd have ordered the stainless steel.
BTW, it's not really a knockoff. It's the same unit from the same manufacturer as the Lavatube. It's just that the exclusive rights expired for Volcano so now anyone can sell them.

I decided to stick with the Kgo, ordered it last night :) I didn't want to have to learn about the battery sizes and stuff with the epower, really, I found just the item descriptions intimidating, and I'm pretty wore out from researching all this stuff already lol. I also ordered way more liquid than I can use anytime soon lol, at least 25 flavors from I think five different vendors. I'm SUPER excited! :) thanks everyone for your input!
