thanks for the power module link! Was thinking about using an LM317 (can get them for free) for my next mod, but might have to use this now!

*starts searching for SPICE model to incorporate into multisim*

looks like it would use a NC momentary switch to ground on the inhibit pin, correct? (closed = grounded = no outpput, break the inhibit -> gnd path = output) or am I reading that wrong?

You are corect.

The Inhibit pin is an open-collector/drain-negative logic input that is referenced to GND. Applying a low-level
Inhibit ground signal to this input disables the module's output. When the Inhibit control is active, the input current drawn by the regulator is significantly reduced. If the Inhibit pin is left open-circuit, the module will produce an
output voltage whenever a valid input source is applied.

This works just like the UCC383-5
