I thought PG shouldn't have any taste?

Just started with DIY, actually made a couple of not-too-bad samples already. Decided I'd mix up another couple before bed tonight, and decided to taste the PG, which I didn't do when I first got it. It was kinda bitter and peppery. Yes it was definitely the PG and not the VG with the nic in it. Maybe my taste buds are really fried 'cuz none of my juices have tasted good today, but I just found that very odd. I'll taste it again tomorrow night when I get home from work. What say you all?

If you are used to vaping high vg, then PG will likely taste "off" to you by itself. I rarely use PG except for when making extractions and I wouldnt describe it as bitter.... but rather just... stale.

I have friends that are mostly PG vapers and they dont taste stale. When I try their juices I nearly gag. All PG tastes this way to me. Not just mine but theirs too.

Not sure if this is what is going on here but just thought Id share. My PG stock is fine, but it definitely has a stale taste.

I wouldn't call it bitter either but I don't care for the slight taste of pg, whatever it is. Luckily for me, it disappears when I add flavors and it seems to carry the flavors better that vg. Unluckily for me, I've found I like some of my mixes at 35 percent vg and some at 50 percent vg. I guess I'll have to maintain two base mixes. Oh, the trials and tribulations of diy lol. :vapor:

PG tastes like vile, chemical, cough syrup to me so I don't normally do any mixes where it could be higher than 50% now. Preferably less when possible. I started out with a regular high PG content by the way and kept wondering why everything had an odd aftertaste. So it has was tastable in the mix from several different vendors and not just the PG I've bought. I had my son taste it tonight and he said "oh so that is what the bad flavor in some of those old liquids was". Not everyone can taste it though so for many people it really is flavorless.

Been DIY for 2.5 years now, never tasted PG, never occured to me why would anyone want to taste it lol so I went ahead and tried.

It's spicy at first, more spicy than peppery. Then it gets hot, quite weird and just like Southern said, a vile chemical. All I can say is that it's better to vape than to taste...
