I enjoy vaping a lot but I keep it to the smoking areas or don't make it obvious that I am vaping (as it is very easy to hide) simply because I don't want to start commotion. I understand why a person who has never smoked would create a big scene over it and I don't want that person to start supporting laws against vaping, even though it may be uneducated and childish. Just my 2 cents

I truly get what you are saying but I refuse to go to a smoking area when I don't smoke.

I consider myself a non-smoker now but I still like the social aspect so this is the best of both worlds. Also the smell of smoke has never bothered me due to the fact that I grew up with both parents smoking.

Eventually the smell of smoke just MIGHT start bothering you. When I was growing up it was during the "Madmen" era...everyone smoked (except my parents...but they always kept cigarettes in little boxes around the house for guests). All my parents' friends smoked. Many of my relatives smoked. I always associated the smell of smoke with a sort of "sophistication". I liked the smell.

Not anymore. I smoked 43+ years, quite heavily. But once I started vaping, within a week or two, I started really noticing the smell of my husband's cigs. After about a month, I really started to HATE the smell...and disliked him smoking around me (but I didn't say anything about it, because I am not a Anti-smoking-Nazi). He did finally quit and started vaping last June. Thank goodness. Now we BOTH strongly dislike the smell of cigarettes!

We both vape wherever we want..including in public...but are considerate and never "in your face" about it. Not ashamed either!!

I think this is the thing that concerns me the most too when taking into consideration on where and when to vape. There is so much legislature out there now to ban ecigs, a lot of it attached to smoking bans trying to make it unlawful for any person to use any form of tobacco, including E-cigarettes and smoke-free tobacco, that I think we as a community who want to retain our rights to vape need to be very conscious of it. The anti smoking/tobacco advocates groups are a serious force that is gaining ground and they are definitely targeting ecigs use. CASAA.org is a great resource for anyone that is interested in current legislature.

I can't handle the smell either. I really dislike it.
Your last paragraph states exactly how I feel. Im not nor would I ever be in someones face on the other hand , I don't smoke tobacco and being "labeled" or feeling that I should go to a smoking area is not for me. I don't want second hand smoke either. I've made a healthier choice and deserve as much consideration as the next guy. Just my feelings on this whole thing.

I've been very amused at how much I both hate and don't mind the smell now. If I'm walking past smokers outdoors, I don't mind it at all. Sometimes I like to socialize with friends while they smoke outdoors. At the same time, I can't stand the smell of smoke indoors. I especially can't stand how badly smokers stink. I can smell them from a mile away. If a smoker stands too close to me in a checkout line at the grocery store, I actually get irritated because the stench is so overpowering lol. It's embarrassing to know I used to stink like that.

There are two schools of thought on this. One side says if we're nice and polite, don't make waves we'll go under the radar. Another side thinks we should advocate and be out there to get the message out.

I think a little of both. They aren't going to reward us and give us a cookie and let us vape. The ANTZ and non-smokers don't want to hear about vaping. Our goal should be to educate and convert every smoker we know to vaping. They aren't going to do that until they see someone vape or hear about it. If we could just convert 2 people each, and they convert 2 people... We'd have some numbers to do something.

My friend was told he couldnt vape outside of Stone Brewery in the garden/outside sitting area. They told him he had to go all the way outside to the "smokers rock". Ill vape inside places, make sure no one notices and hold the vapor in for a long time and nothing visible comes out. I was once watching a monday night football game drinking a beer and eating some good BBQ and noticed a lady a few seats over ninja vaping a pink eGo, so I busted out my pv and no one else noticed us. Bathroom stalls are a good place to vape too.
