I am a really heavy vaper. My e-cig of choice is the Joye 510.

Since I am a heavy vaper, it seems that I am switching batteries all day, at least 8 to 10 times. This is getting old, as you might imagine.

I'd like to build (or buy) some sort of mod that will give my 510 extended battery life, or a USB Passthrough that actually works.

I got a USB pass for my 510 from ElectroNicStix, but it only works half the time. Usually, pushing the button doesn't fire up the atomizer and I have to push it again. Very annoying, so I went back to batteries.

I really need some sort of way to mod the passthrough to work better, or some other battery mod so I can use more powerful/longer life batteries.

I don't know where to begin, though, because I have no idea where I'll find anything that will match up with the threading on the 510 atomizer. Whatever solution becomes available will have to thread seamlessly onto the atty, or there is no point.

Anyone have any ideas and/or experience for a 510 battery mod? I'm getting desperately tired of this almost hourly battery shuffle.

Thanks,

Ult

You could always try taking the wires of your usb passthrough and connecting them to a small car battery. Just kidding... Good thing I read this because I was going to get a passthrough from electronicstix.. you sure it's not just a bad passthrough you got?

Yeah I'd like to see if anyone could think of a better battery as well, the charge life is pretty pathetic with these 510's.

I was in the same boat as you, 8 to 10 batteries a day along with a couple of mini pipe batteries in my mini. I got a usb passthrough from widow and it works great, has not missed a beat. Your passthrough may be faulty or your power source, I would check both. I have a mod coming that uses cr123 batteries. The Janty stick will have a 510 adapter in a couple of weeks, per Ludo. Steve is working an adapter for the Pridogy and hopes to have them under 100 bucks in a few months.

Why don't you sacrifice one of your batteries for the connector. I waiting for one of mine to die so I can use the connector in a double A battery box. I got a PCC for the batteries which helps, but I think a battery mod would be better.

It may just be hit and miss with these 510 passthroughs. I got two of them from Electronicstix and I have had no issues at all so far. Knock on wood.

yeah i saw your reply in my post over there at electronicstix.com with the video review... i have since switched atomizers to one that i also got from jason and i kid you not i have maybe had 5 times out of 500ish total that the atomizer hasnt fired when hitting the button. i think there are some differences that we are overlooking in these atomizers because it would take 5 pushes to fire the other one the one seen in the review over at the vid review forum

I just got a pass through from TW and it's working great so far....I'm just not sure i have enough juice to keep up with it...with no batteries to worry about i just can't seem to put the thing down:)

Yes, they are identical! The only issue is....whether there will be separation of the negative and positive terminals when screwed together. The centre positive post on the 510 atty, and the 401 atty look about the same size....but I have no dead 401 attys to dissect and test on a multimeter.

this only applies to the newer 401 4 hole attys. the old 2 hole ones have a much bigger centre post on the inside, which would be no good at all for a 510 mod.

I think a 401 atomizer has the same threads. I am waiting to see which dies first the 510 battery or my 401 atomizer (to use in a mod).

Posted this in the 510 connector thread, but since the original idea came from this thread, i thought that i would post here as well.

Cut apart a dead 510 atomizer, threaded it to an M401 atomizer, comfirmed works without modification to the positive terminal.
Same with a 401 USB Mini Charger-Cut this apart threaded unto a 510 atty, and again this works without modification.

I used the new intellicig USB charger (the one that looks like a MicroSD adapter) simply because it really doesn't function like the Smoore factory chargers, but i don't see why this wouldn't work with any M401 charger.
