I've got RDA's that I love, so why can't I get that in a tank system? I've fiddled and fiddled with an AGA-T and a DID clone, seems if I can get either to work all I have to do is look at it wrong and they short out! Pretty much done with them.
The ZAP, super easy to build and travels fairly well. It's airy as all get out! OK, fixed that with the Scotch tape and needle trick, but if I don't vape on it like a fiend it doesn't seem to stay warm and hit good then the SS mesh seems to taint the juice making it thick, black nasty tasting in a day or two.
I like my carto tanks, but they just don't do it with Mad Murdock's juice! I've looked at the Killer and Diver, but with 9 1/4 fingers, being half crippled and getting old and blind, I don't think I even want to attempt to wrap a coil for one of them!
I've no desire to play with anything that takes R and NR wire, too much effort for the little gain that I can see!
I've been looking at the Fogger V3, but filling it seems like a pain in the ....!
Any suggestions or am I doomed with dripping and bottom feeders? Not that that's a bad place to be mind you!

I'd still recommend one of the kayfuns or similar design or clone (I have the bt804). There's something about the reduced chamber and gravity assisted juice wicking that provides a stellar vape...just as good as dripping imo.

I'm not sure which model I'd recommend though. If you can hold out another month or so, the kayfun 3.1 clone from fasttech looks promising.

As I understand it, that is what the Fogger is a clone of?

Forget about a Fogger V2 friend. I got one and compared to the AGA-T2 this thing is a nightmare to get right. The Kayfun Lite clones from Tobeco, EHPRO or the Russian 91% are much, much better options. The prices range is from $50-$75 on those.

I was a complete newb to RDA's as of last night. Since then I've rebuilt my KFL EHPRO clone twice (wanted to change juices and my wick was too tight on the first pass) and had zero issues. It vapes like a champion just on top of a Vamo V4 which, incidentally, the brushed metal of each is spot on so that's cool too :)

Well I got hooked on drippers and said to heck with it for a while. Then some things changed drastically in my life and I wanted more than to carry a juice bottle around with me all the time!
I'd taken the ZAP to a NASCAR race 100 miles each way, and it rocked for the most part, I even had it drop on the floor in the garage, cleaned the coil, brushed off the dust and dirt, popped the cap on and away it went!
But the SS mesh was just too much for me, it tainted the juice after only one day in the tank making it dark and changed the flavor more and more the longer it was in the tank. Just didn't do it for me!
I'd talked to another member on the phone a while back expressing my frustration with this and he'd suggested using silica instead of mesh. This just seemed crazy to me, everybody uses SS or ceramic, why would I want to use silica?
Well in my current state, out of desperation I tried it. I LOVE IT!! This is the best set up I've ever tried! No tainting of the juice, no change in flavor and it doesn't gunk up like the mesh did! I'm on my 8th or 9th tank with this set up so far and it's still going strong!
Stick the allen wrench in the wick hole, wrap a coil around it, check for hot spots and even burn, then thread some 3mm silica through it and enjoy!
It's so stupid that sometimes we have to go back to the basics to move forward!

the fogger is more of someones interpretation of the Taifun gt then it is a clone of anything.

with that said you cant go wrong with a kayfun or taifun. running the taifun right now - doubled up some 3 mm, wrapped a 1.4 ohm coil with some 30 and popped it on my provari.

having owned both (and i cant believe im gonna say it) the taifun clone running around is pretty much spot on to the original)

the kayfun is just as easy to set up and many are saying the clones are pretty well done.

filling them could be easier but its not terrible, and the KF is 4.5ml and taifun is around 5ml its not like you will be filling them every hour.

or you could go for the microcoil auto dripper rout in the geni's everyone seems to like it.

I'll second the RSST recommendation, it's a great RBA and my main vape. Many nice features and great flavor. If you want something with a tank I'll heartily recommend the RSST. I started with an AGA-T2, and I can well understand your frustration with that cantankerous device. Get an RSST, it's cheap and very easy to set up. I've never had a leak with mine.

Look into putting an ekowool sleeve on your mesh wick. I was ready to stomp on my RSST before I figured that out, now it vapes almost like a dripper as long as the tank is more than 1/4 full. After that it still needs tilting, which is annoying but tolerable.

Really? Wow, I've never had a problem with my mesh wicks, and never had to put a sleeve on them, nor have I ever had to tilt. Are you using it with that plug in the fill hole? That would cause problems. I put that in my cigar box long ago.

I prefer the Taifun GT but for complete ease of use the Kayfun is pretty damn hard to screw up. I can rewick them in seconds and never have flooding or dry hits. Pretty damn simple to use. Taifun is pretty simple too but is a tad more finicky to get it right or it can flood. Either of these is an excellent bet. Stay way from the Fogger. Although it can be good, it's super finicky

Have you tried the Trident? There're unexpensive at FT, and although you have tiny screws and tiny grooves it's fairly easy to build

I have some suggestions but it may reflect my bias towards a certain type of tank and against genesis-style RBAs.

As far as I know, there are only a few in the category of what some people call "gravity fed drippers": The Atmomixani Steam Machine VST, the GP Spheroid, the GP Heron and the A7oid (Mini A7 RBA with special tip to transform it into a Spheroid-like device. The basic principle behind these are that they are basically drippers that wick from a poly-filled area of the tank - thus getting dripping quality with the extended vaping time of a tank.

I have not used the Steam Machine, but I have gotten to privilege of playing with a Spheroid for a week, or so, (currently looking to nab a nice Spheroid at a good price in the classifieds, but I'll probably break down and buy new) and I currently have two a7oid setups. The Spheroid is phenomenal in just about every category but price, hands down - you can find reviews everywhere. The Heron is the bigger brother of the Spheroid, literally, as it is basically wider (and has more tank capacity) but it is not yet released as far as I know.

My suggestion is always the a7oid because of it's relatively low cost to get started. It has turned into one of the cheapest, easiest, best-value atomizers in my collection.

I originally bought the A7 as a curiosity just to have something to tinker with after having been satisfied with my clearomizer head rebuilding. I also noticed that there was some buzz around the a7oid conversion that people were doing so I bought a a7oid tip from Captivape just to mess around.

Granted, the A7 mini is fairly small but once you get the hang of it is really quite simple. It took a couple of tries to successfully build my A7 at first, as a dripper, but after getting it to meter correctly it was pretty good. When I switched in the a7oid tip and added the included fiber fill, it was awesome. My setup is simple : 7 wrap 32G Kanthal wire on a 3mm wick for a 2.2 Ohm coil. One end of the wick facing up into the fiber and one, shorter, end facing down into the drip well.

I don't know the exact volume of liquid that it can hold but the a7 is small to begin with (which I wanted).I get about 100, decent-sized puffs (I don't usually take big lung hits) from one fill. That's a LOT more from what you'd have with most dripping RBAs. Captivape's A7oid tip isn't for everyone. It's aluminum and very thin. There are some DIYs out there that show you how to make your own with a delrin tip and a post from some Kanger tank. I personally have been able to press-fit an air post from a Protank head into one of my stainless drip tips and that works fine as well.

Edit: Just wanted to edit to say that the only reason why I don't use the a7oids more often (although they are still in the rotation) is because I'm currently hooked on using the Sophia RBA by Leo. It's a little bit fiddly, and quite small, though so I didn't suggest it.
