I have to agree with everyone on the RSST... It is easy to setup and maintain and if done properly, it won't leak. Even if laid on its side overnight. What I disagree with is the setup that most people use in them. I started like everyone else with SS mesh and had problems with wicking and the occasional tank emptying in my pocket from a temperature change going from outside to indoors. I then went to SS rope w/ SS mesh wrapped between the coil and the rope. Improved the vape ten fold. I have never had the need to remove the fill plug, other than to actually fill the tank since changing from all SS mesh. I have since started using the same setup. but with XS-18 in place of the SS mesh. It has taken a few days to break it in, but now its vaping like the previous setup. I would recommend a RSST-TCI for the top cap though. It made my RSST even better with a reduced chamber. It was only $10 and made a huge difference. Here are a few pics of the setup...

All my RTAs work great w/ cotton.
My RDAs work but now and then I get behind on the dripping and get a nasty burnt sandwich; not fun at 0.6 ohms.

+1 for cotton. It saved my Aga-T2 from complete banishment. No more mesh for me. I make a micro-style coil, but larger diameter than the ones I make for my drippers, hook it up, roll up a long cotton wick and run it through the coil and into the tank. Works beautifully and doesn't taint my juice. If I want to change flavors, I just clean the tank out with a syringe and hot water, dry burn the coil, pop in a fresh wick and I'm good to go. Simplicity itself.

Well, after loosing the top cap off the ZAP more times than I care to count, I got frustrated! So I researched, looked at pictures and read a lot, I wanted something durable!
The fact that everything but the drip tip screws together on the Kayfun lite clone, so I ordered one.
Just got it in today, so I'm still learning! Took it all apart, removed the air screw and coil screws then ran a drill bit through the air hole before I soaked it in Rum and rinsed it off with hot water. Put it all back together, machine oil taste that would not go away! Took it back apart, cleaned it with warm water and detergent, still machine oil taste! Apart again, this time an Iso bath and I used a syringe to shoot alcohol through the air inlet and tried again. It was better, but now it had that nasty wick taste!
It came apart again and I just re-wicked it, two strands of 3mm silica and a 5-6 wrap of 32ga at 2 ohms. Much better!
It's a very different vape, I've had warm before, but this is a much different warm, this is in your lungs warm, not just warm in your mouth. I don't get dry hits per se, but now and again I take a vape with no vapor?
I'm doing the top fill method so far and having some problems with flooding, I've got to refill in a bit so I'm going to try the bottom fill, but they aren't kidding about the top cap being a bear to get on with a full tank!
But it doesn't leak, not at all, and it doesn't come apart in my pocket, so far it's pretty impressive!

Not sure anyone is following anymore or not, but day two with the Kayfun and I like it enough I ordered another one! Other than carto tanks, the only other thing I've considered ordering another of is my Provari, just sayin!
If you want something that looks right on a Provari and is easy to build with very few parts, I'd suggest the SQuape. It's almost 23mm, it's surprising how much difference 1mm makes. Finding a BFT that can get a new coil/wick without emptying the tank has been fantastic for me.

sawlight do you definitely WANT to rebuild (9.5 fingers, old, blind, crippled)? If not, what about an AMP tank w/storebought atties?

Just a thought......

I've never tried the AMP tank, but it reminds me too much of a clearomizer, and to say I'm not a fan of them would be an understatement!
Really, I've gotten these Kayfun clones going pretty good, and the don't leak!

Have you looked at the kayfun lites or the russian? You might like those.

Those are both RTAs...

On the advice of a RBAs For Beginners thread here I just got in an RSST. ABout $20 and I easily wicked it with cotton on the first go around. Vapes awesome but jeez does it use up the juice!

Well, here I was all fat dumb and happy with the Kayfun's, and I win a Fogger V2 in a raffle! Now, this sucker about got thrown across the room a few times trying to get a coil in it! I finally won, then had the same problems trying to wick the silly thing! This is not a friendly to rebuild device! In fact, it's just flat nasty! I'd get one side of the micro coil attached and go to the other leg, just to pull the first leg out! Get the second leg in and go back to the first and pull the second out! GRRRR!!! Granted, I was using 28ga, but it took me an hour to get this thing going!
The vape, well all I can say is WOW! It's everything the Kayfun is, great vape, lots of vapor production (I see where the name came from for sure!) and not the muted flavor of the Kayfun! It hits all the tones and innuendos that you expect from your juice, no muting at all!
I dread having to coil and wick it again, but I'm hoping it gets easier with time. It's well worth a look, just be ready to know when to walk away from this thing, you will need to now and again!

I tell you what Sawlight. I have been fooling with the fogger V3 for a week now. I've rebuilt 3 times I think. lol I've got the coil attaching down, and the last coil I put it in it was beautiful! (30ga micro at 1.5 ohms.) Every time, the first few minutes are awesome. Really great flavor and vapor! Then the burnt hits start. Are you wicking with silica, cotton, the golden hair of angels from on high? I've got to know!!!

I can see the potential with this thing, I just have to figure out why it doesn't seem to be wicking properly.

Interesting! I'm using cotton, nearly have the coil chamber nearly full with cotton. Even more odd, I've got a 2 ohm coil running at 5.2 volts. WAY off my normal range of around 8 watts!

OK. So I pulled all the old wick out and did it over. Then I stuffed some cotton around in the open space on the deck. Been using it all day with no problems. Getting a good strong flavor, and plenty of vapor. I don't know if it will ever be my favorite, but at least I can feel like it didn't beat me! lol Thanks for the tip!
