In my experience, nothing ever lives up to hype. I always ignore the hype and go into the movie thinking it will be ok at best. Works well, with movies I liked.

I haven't seen a movie recently that made me want my time back. There is one movie that sticks out to be in that category for me, and it is most definitely The Blair Witch Project. I watched the whole damn movie waiting for something to happen, then the movie ended. What nonsense. Nothing happened for the entire movie. If a movie doesn't grab me in 20 mins.... I'm out. No more wasting my time. I'll find other nonsense to talk to people about.

Wow, I really liked Reign of Fire, Steel Magnolias is one of my all-time favorite movies and I think Sandra Bullock is awesome. Maybe it's a chick thing.

My vote is for the Blair Witch Project and Paranormal Activity. They both sucked and weren't scary at all - especially Blair Witch. Those and any horror movie with a number after it in the title!

For overhyped - I'll go with Avatar. It was ok, but nowhere near worth the hype imo.

Agreed :thumb:
I usually stay away from "event" movies, but relaxed my policy to see Avatar. It was, indeed, just ok.

My friends and co-workers insisted I see Zombieland as well. I even read a review which compared it favorably to Shaun of the Dead. I thought it was lazily written and boring.

I agree Zombieland was mediocre but it was almost worth watching just to see the part with Bill Murray - LMAO.
