I would like to change my outfit/case on my Evic. Basically I want to take the internals out and put it into this case. Link--->1pc NEW18650 Battery Case 2 Parallel Connection DIY Case | eBay

I don't don't really want to change anything else (electronic wise). I would put the screen in at the top (on the side) with a window cover and possibly get rid of the control wheel the Evic has and replace it with up down buttons. Kinda like how it is on the Lavatube. And probably replace the fire button for a better one. The USB port hole pictured in the link would be where the 510 connection would be.

I'm using my unmodded Evic now and the top has come loose and off. I put the top back on and it still fires and works fine. But this thing seems fragile. I only knocked it over onto the desk when it was sitting upright and the top came right off...with the wires still connected. And I could see everything inside. I just don't know if this modding can be done.

My concerns are about changing the control wheel to up and down buttons and also changing the battery. To going from a single 18650 to dual 18650 batteries that would be in the new case. I don't know if there would be any danger in this. I would be using IMR 18650 batteries.

Please keep in mind that I don't want to change anything else electronic wise. The Evic would still have the same amp limits and power output. And it would still have the USB port for using MVR and updates from the computer. Although I don't know about charging the batteries from the USB port since it would now have dual 18650 batteries.

I'm pretty sure it would just be double the life of the battery since there are two batteries instead of one. But I'm not an expert on this issue and I don't know what the dangers are (besides wiring the batteries wrong) on how the Evic control head would react. Anybody who knows more...please give your input. Thanks.

I've built a lot of mods with that case. I'm vaping on a DNA 12 chip in it now. It's an awesome box to work with gives amazing battery life holding 2 18650s but it's not going to be any more durable than you have now and a lot of hassle changing it over. If it's anything like most of the Chinese boards that come in mods the wire and solder contacts are tiny, very little room for error and easy to mess up leaving a bricked chip.

If you want a VW project for that box get a DNA board from Evolv. The DNA 12 would have about the same limits as that chip and very easy to work with, doesn't come with a meter though. The DNA 20 has higher limits than that chip and also easy to work with, comes with a meter, up/down buttons for adjustment and a usb charger if you want to add that....awesome chip. Both would fit in that case nicely with much less hassle.

Thanks for the replies.

You guys are right. I'm going to leave the Evic alone and use a DNA chip. If I can get my hands on one.
