The ego is a good start! Congrats on making the switch! I have only been vaping 4 months, and have converted 5 smokers since I started. I have recommended the ego and the volt to all of them. They have opted for the volt for size but can already see that they would prefer the battery life of an ego, but perhaps with a cartomiser set up as they love the v3 cartomisers that come with it! I can see they may get an adapter and switch to that ego battery! But I also think the epower is a good place to start for a good battery life if you dont mind the size. I myself stil have my starter kits but now prefer my mods. Take it slow (unlike me!!) and don't give up, there is a fix for everything, from throat hit, to vapour production, flavour and battery life. People on the forums will always point you in the right direction and give you the advice you need!

For what my 2 cents is worth, it can get frustrating at times. It can also seem like it is a lot more expensive than smoking at first. Once you find what works for you, though, it does get easier. There were many times I was ready to give up and go back to analogs, but I kept plugging along and I'm glad I did. I got a Mega ego 900 kit after starting with a KR808 and it has made all the difference in the world. The cartos you choose will also make a huge difference. Using the mega cartos, I have found, is much more convenient, as they don't require refilling as often. When I was using the regular sized cartos, I felt like all I ever did was fill and refill them. I think most people will agree that the mega dual coil cartos give the best performance. Good luck to you. I think you will be glad you went with the eGo. You will never find more helpful and friendly people than the folks here on the forum. Oh and keep your eye on the Deals and Steals thread for sales. I found that trial and error is the only way to find what will work for you, but it can be expensive and wasteful. Helps if you can get the stuff at a discount.

got any pros/cons or pointers for me? i read the Blu thread but any additional info is always appreciated... i smoke maybe a 1/2 pack a day.. upwards of over a pack if i've been drinking.. should i invest in an extra battery?.. i read that their overall only flaw is their battery life...

Everybody's experience differs. I was a 25 yr smoker of Camel lights, found this forum & decided to purchase the Bloog ecig. It worked for me right away. After the first drag I was done with cigarettes. There are many brands out there that will have the same effect. Just make sure you read this forum to increase your chances of success. Good luck with your personal journey.

Hi and congratulations on the Ego kit, I suspect you will be happy with it. A good menthol is a tough find really. I have tried many and for me what finally worked was Joogler chill. It is plain menthol that I use alone once in a while or more often mix with my favorite tobacco. The only one that I thought was good premixed was Johnson Creek Arctic Ice but many can't stand their flavors (they are strong).

This forum is awesome... I've had the ego for about 2 weeks now and haven't purchased a pack of cigarettes since. I also find some days that I only take a few totes and others I don't vape at all which is pretty amazing.

It came with 1-No Nic, 1-Low Nic, 1-Med Nic and 2- High Nic's. I started with the No Nic, and didn't get the throat hit I was looking for. The Low Nic gave me a better throat hit, and although I prefer the med nic, I choke sometimes from the throat hit.

I ordered some juices from Juicy Vapor. Although it was supposed to be a 3 day turn around. Transaction was approved 10 days ago, shipping confirmation was sent 5 days ago, and tracking said it should have been delivered yesterday. I'm a little disappointed, but hopeful that I will receive it today.

I got 2 different sets of flavors ranging in different PG balances and Nic levels.

Eitherway, love the Ego and think it was a great buy.

This really worked for me. I also spend a couple of days here in research. No analogs since 8-26-2011. After trying virtually everything. I lucked out with a good menthol that I have stuck with from Vapor4Life. Wow Smilin Menthol that seems very much like the kool milds i used to smoke. I learned how to refill the carts right away. It has been no problem. I just got the starter kit. good luck, K
