I am ready to quit smoking and I haven't found anything that helps! I've been reading up on the e-cigs and I would like to give it a try. Does anyone recommend a certain model to start with? There are so many e-cig stores out there on the web- what should I look for in a store and who has the best prices? Please advise - I am ready to get going. Thanks.

hi supercutie and welcome to ECF!!

I would suggest getting yourself a MANUAL 510 e-cig kit from cignot dot com. They're very 'user friendly' and cignot's prices are great and their shipping is super fast! :)

IF you decide that you like vaping, (and, I'm sure you WILL!), you can then upgrade to the Ego kit. You can use the parts from your original 510 kit and you'll get anywhere from 6-10 hours of battery life from an Ego.

You MUST purchase e-liquid at the same time you order your kit..nothing like having your e-cig sitting there staring at you and not being able to use it! No liquid = no vaping.

I'd also suggest buying at least ONE spare atomizer with the kit. No atomizer = no vaping.

The batteries are re-chargeable and you'll get a charger with your kit.

Best of luck and welcome to ECF!! Any questions, just ask, that's what we're here for!! :)

Since you are READY to quit smoking, I think this is the way to go. I have tried the gum, the patch, the nicotrol inhaler and cold turkey.

I use the firelight which has been good for me for the past 32 days (minus my batteries all dying on me) - but I think the members. moderators here have very good advice from all that I have read so far today.

What an awesome site!! And I for one will never go back to smoking - I have finally found something that took away ALL my cravings to light up!! YAY

Battery life is a big deal. My first kit the battery's just didn't last.
Take into account how much you smoke, and just assume you will vape more than you smoke now. I'll back up jjrose here proximity to a real cigarette doesn't matter after 2 days.

The 510/ego (or tornado) suggestion isn't a bad one. You can also go with a 901 e-cig and later upgrade to a screwdriver/905 Which is probably cheaper on batteries in the long run.

Good luck and feel free to PM me with questions.

Hello Supercutie, I "smoke" now since almost two months the electronic cigarette. In the beginning I was still smoking analogs while drinking coffee or beer. :) But after a few days I quit it and it wasnt hard.

I started off with a "mini" model like you get from GreenSmoke for instance, but after a while it didnt produce enough vapor for me, so I switched to Joye Ego from Cignot. For now I found the perfect model for me. I would suggest you to browse through the forum and read the reviews.

Welcome to the forum and good luck!!!

Nice name :p And the 510 Ego from CigNot is the way to go... Just skip the whole "it looks cool" stuff and go straight for the big dog. The Ego is stylish, and 6-8 hours of vaping with a second battery on the charger is...well... priceless.

IMO a little colored light on the end just makes you look like you're smoking a fake cig... kinda not cool if you ask me. An Ego is a genuine, bonified vaping device, and looks like one too. It's still small enough to not look like a freaky boat sized .... or something, and fits perfectly in the smallest of hands.

The other thing I forgot to mention was the MILLIGRAM amount in the liquid you purchase!! (D'oh!)

Depending on how much you smoke, of course, but I recommend most people start at 24mg's. You can always bring the nic content DOWN if it's too much for you, but you can't really get it UP.

You want to make sure that you're getting that nic when you first start out..if you don't feel satisfied, you're going to light up...

AND, do NOT beat yourself up if you don't IMMEDIATELY quit smoking! A lot of people get down on themselves because they pick up a few cigarettes a day for a little while..no big deal!!

It is hard to recommend a device for you as everyone is different and wants different things from their PV. There are so many different PVs out there and they each have their own pros and cons, so I'd advise thinking about what you'd most like (i.e.--looks/feels more like a traditional cig, easy to use, long life batteries, the list goes on). Then I'd advise reading through the forums a bit and reading what other people think of their purchases.

That said, for me I started with a 510, but found I didn't like having to deal with things like refilling or trying to modify carts to get them to do what I wanted. So I recently switched to a KR808, which seems to be a good fit for me so far in that I can either choose to refill the cartos or just use and toss. But as I said, your needs might be different than mine.

As for where to buy, my best advise is to look at the suppliers who are listed here as "registered suppliers". They all have been proven to be good, so take a look around and see what they offer and at what price.

Gods Honest truth...

I got my Joye 510 on Wednesday the 12th of May and have had a 1 normal (to compare) since then now I dont have the eenzy weenziest bit of a crave for one...

I have just come in from the balcony after vaping half of a Double flavour DRUM E liquid with a class of pata Negra red wine in the warm Andalucian sun and 100% had the feeling "Ahhh...this is the life....WIne, good weather and a nice Ecigarette...."

The first week may be confusing but as was mentioned many times on this forum...when you start you vaping a person is like a kid in a candy shop, all these new sensations Starting at:

1. Wow this is great!!
2.Wow this is fantastic.
3.Oh my god.Why wasnt this available years ago!!
4.Oh My god someone is going to try and take this way from me its so good!!
5.Hmmm...I wonder what a normal cigarette would feel like compared to this it is so good.
6.God I am smoking a normal cigarette and it tastes like .....

Everyone is not the same, I smoked marlboro lights for over 24 years (15 to 20 ) a day, maybe 40 when I was having Beer.

I have just ordered for a 63 year old 40 Benson and hedges a day smoker a janty Eg0 (awaiting delivery, one for myself aswell) and we are going to have a vapefest when they arrive.

One last thing, try and get in the frame of mind of seeing it like a brand change.

I´d suggest the 510 with manual battery and plenty of eliquid for testing and comparison.

Say what you will domino but I'm just waitin' for supercutie to log enough posts to have an avatar.
Hey antisheep, I love my freaky boat sized bongs. I wear my freaky captains hat when I vape on 'em.

Well, I suppose they have their place, but maybe a bit too tacky for a super-cutie. Maybe someday I can get my freak on with some boat sized vapor bongs, but right now I'm focused on getting myself and my daughter to DisneyLand this year :D

All this pressure because of her name, and now she'll have to try to sign up again as a sock!

I started with a Njoy but we won't go into that. I finally found the 510 and at first I refilled carts but then I found dripping. I love this. I used a 510 for 9 months and completely quit smoking.

Then I decided it was time for a mod. I first chose the Little Chuck (this didn't work out) so then I got a super 6 which is great and then a Chameleon which is also great but a little bigger.

At first I thought I had to have something that was similar to a regular cigarette but this soon faded.

For me the Super 6 is the best mod you can get. If you don't mind getting an ecig that is bigger and doesn't look like a cigarette then I would just skip the smaller one and go ahead and get a mod. There are several on the market some 3.7 volt and some 6.0 volt. For me I prefer the 6.0 volt. Once you vape this you will never go back to a smaller ecig.

First we need to determine what kind of a smoker you are. What brand do you smoke, how much do you smoke and what is it that you like about smoking that brand?
