I toiled over this decision for quite awhile myself. I did not want to spend the money on the Provari either. But just as Baditude has said after my research I decided on a Provari, it has been a great device has handled all the drops flawlessly..lol. I also never ran across a single person who regretted the purchase. I did find others that bought other devices and they broke or just stopped working for no reason. I do not call my self a provari fan boy I just enjoy things that work. Now that being said just as Baditude said if u wanna vape for awhile then provrai is worth considering but if your going to stop vaping then a cheaper mod would be the choice. In my opinion if ur looking to upgrade u aren't planning on stoping anytime soon..lol

On a side note, Baditude thanks for all your carto tank knowledge, it has helped my a good deal in my recent lurking phase. I myself am a carto tank lover, but just starting my collection. lol

Buy quality, cry once, buy cheap cry all the time. I went from Blu to Ego to Provari in a few days. I spent the whole weekend here trying to figure out where to go from the Ego and Provari stood out as the best for a beginner. The REO looks nice too but to me it looks a bit more complicated and not as newbie friendly.
I figured buy the top of the line to start with and I'd be fine...lol!! Little did I realize, the Provari was just the tip of the iceberg when it came to higher end vaping.
Now the mechanicals have gotten under my skin and I wants! I think I hear Poldiac calling my name...*tries to hide wallet*

Don't mech mods drop in voltage as the battery drains though? They are unregulated correct?

Mechanical mods do in fact drop in voltage (and vape quality) as the battery drains. They are totally dependent upon the voltage output from the battery. A fresh 3.7 volt battery starts out being able to give 4.2 volts, and continues to drop in voltage in use to about 3.4 volts when the voltage left is too low to produce vapor. The drop is very gradual so you may not notice it; but you can easily notice a difference going from a weakened battery to a fresh one.

This is one of the major selling points of a Provari. It's processor continuously monitors the dropping voltage of the battery, and will automatically make the necessary adjustments to keep your set voltage the same - from the time of a fresh battery to a depleted one. Accuset Technology. Set and forget. You get what you set.

Another fact that sets the Provari apart from the rest is the support from the manufacturer. Provape gives you a one year warranty. Another year on top of that for $25 if you're into that, at the time of purchase. Once the warranty has expired, Provape will continue to provide any necessary repairs for a Provari at very reasonable cost for as long as you have the device. You will not get that from the Chinese-made devices. After their warranty has expired, there is no repair for a broken device - consider it a throw away.

Provari. Buy once, cry once. Regret buying one - never.

Funny thing at lunch today. I hit Subway which is right across the parking lot from the building I used to work in. See a couple guys smoking and walked over to talk. One smoking an analog and the other 2 with black Provaris. Both guys were new vapers. Only differences where tanks and juice :D
It's good to see more people using the good stuff. I'd never seen anyone using anything other than the cig-a-likes before I bought my gear. One lady that's been trying to get me to try e-cigs for years still is as happy as can be with her Blu's. Lol, I sent her a picture of my Provo with Protank and her reply was "that doesn't even look legal!"

You might wanna look at the svd by innokin on fasttech. It's a vv mod, telescoping, so it can use all three battery sizes.

If you are set on a ProVari... then buy a ProVari! If not you will end up spending a few hundred bucks on different modes and then you will feel guilty when you are out buying a ProVari for $200. A ProVari have a pretty good resale too. If you figure out you want something else just sell it down the road.

Very good point. I may just splurge now and get myself a provari, a protank and maybe some evods or something. Thanks everyone!

I have found that as long as I'm using single coil clearo's a EGO twist gives me as good a vape as anything I've used but with dual coil cartomizers or a RSST a VAMO or SID is a must.

Given a choice I would rather use my VAMO or SID over my EGO batteries any day. I just like the look and feel and the less it looks like a real cigarette the better IMO.

Thanks for the info i loved the look of the innokin 134 also but heard it was huge i have heard good and bad things about fast tech so not sure about ordering from there have u ordered from then before?
Ordering from fastech is great as long as you use common sense and pay attention to what you're doing you'll be fine with it. If it's listed as an innokin device you will receive a genuine innokin device the same with any other brand name stuff they sell if the brand name is not in the product description then it's a clone and even that doesn't necessarily mean it's no good . I've had better luck with the clone replacement coils than the brand name ones from kanger . You will need patience when ordering it takes about 2 weeks on average to get here.

Yeah I have heard that it takes a while to get stuff from fasttech. Well it says its am innokin device. It may be 37.21 but then I have to buy batteries and a charger, plus tanks. So it will end up costing me more, which again leads me to say "I should just get the vari." But I do kind of dig the looks of the svd, considering it looks like Vader's light saber.

I'd agree with retic - if you can't spend Provari money, go for an SVD or VAMO.
You can get one of those, and EXCELLENT batteries and charger (that you'd keep for a future Provari) for like $60, if you go to FastTech and wait a week.

I'd say drop $20 to get a ProTank, too, or maybe get a T3 or a couple EVOD's. Just watch out for those on FastTech - they sell fake ones (if it doesn't say KANGER, then it isn't!), and I personally don't recommend those...

What batteries and charger do you recommend if I do decided to go that route? There are so many brands, I don't know where to start.
