I am currently using an I06 1.8 ohm with an 18350 battery unregulated (lets say around 3.9v). Has anyone tried this and also used an I06 3.5 ohm and high voltage? I am curious how these compare if the watts are the same. Does the 3.5 ohm one have a longer coil and therefore covers more surface area and provides more flavor and vapor even at the same watts? Just trying to work out whether I need to worry about HV (never tried it) when I can just use an LR i06 instead.

Thank you :)

Not really sure about the technical designs. I've tried 2.5 ohms and 3.5 ohms and couldn't see any noticeable difference at the same watts in terms of flavor.

I can tell you two things.

Generally, higher resistance atomizers will last you longer.

And the higher the resistance the more battery life you will get.

A 1.8 at 3.9 volts is 8.45 watts right about good vaping wattage and a 3.5 ohm I06 at let's say 5.5 volts is just short of 8.65 watts so it's going to be comparable. I believe the 3.5 ohm I06 has a heavier gauge coil in it. Switcher is the guy that knows.

Plus what Legiox said.
What both gentleman explained is pretty much was goes on. But... (yes I know there is always a but) It depends on the wire diameter used in the construction. Yes LRs have a thinner wire and HV usually has a thicker wire. That being said, in order to increase the surface area of the coil at HV you would use a thinner wire as resistance is by the inch = more wraps. As to what Isaac uses in there, well let's just say it is the secret sauce recipe.

I have experimented with my Bullie A2 and use a cross between LR and HV for thickness. I have 12 coils (sound familiar) The downside it ain't worth poop at 3.7V but at 4.5-5V it will get you there. (resistance 2.7Ohm) That puppy vapes beter than either LR or HV and truly brings out the right flavour of the liquid. (7.4 - 9.1 watts) so roughly 8W which is where most vape at and my sweet spot.

All that being said, once you know where your sweet spot is, when using something like the Darwin or the Kick, you set your wattage and pay no attention to which atty you put on :) You will will always get your dialed in sweet spot :D
