I'm planning on getting either an SVD or a Provari here soon (probably Provari) and I think I'm going to switch fron Kanger tanks to carto tanks along with it. From what I've gathered, the J tanks are wonderful, but most of those threads and reviews are older. Now I see a lot of people praising the ibtanked lineup. Aesthetically, I think the J tank looks better, but performance is obviously more important. Is this a different strokes for different folks matter, or is there a clear winner between the two?

I've never actually used a J tank, so keep that in mind. (thought i did just look them up) I love, my Ibtanked (s)! Excellent fit, metal caps, glass tubes, any color combination under the sun if you are so inclined... They sell a provari ring, so you don't have to worry about flush mount airflow issues. Can't go wrong with the ibtanked. ;)

Depends on what you mean by performance. While the tank is important, the carto itself is the major deciding factor.

To be fair, I've never had a jtank or an IBTanked. But my smok u-dctank never even had a loose thread or a leak.

I would have to disagree to an extent. I have had crappy carto's that would be crappy in whatever tank you put them in. On the other hand, if you have bad seals in a crappy tank, no matter what carto you put in them, they will not have the correct vacuum to keep liquid properly circulating. Also, if you have nice tight seals, you don't have to worry about the tank slipping up the carto, etc. Just my two cents. :2c: :)

Lol, I thougt I sensed J tanks being a little older, hense some people not knowing what they are. ElectronicStix.Com · J-Tanks And J-Tank Parts

Although the tubes aren't glass, just about everything I've ever read about then is that they are reliable and don't leak, don't blow seals, etc. I don't have as much research into ibtanks.

Edit: I am currently under the impression that boge cartos are the fan favorite around here. Are there others that stack up, or even out perform these?

I really want to make the right choice on a tank system as I upgrade to a mod. Sick of dealing with shoddy clearos.

I don't think we're in disagreement at all. I completely agree with you. ;)

Upside for IBTanked is the borosilicate glass tube. Juices won't etch or crack them. However, the J-Tank tubes are unbreakable which may be a serious plus depending on user.

The stainless steel or aluminum end caps for IBTanked do not extend as far past the end of the tube as the Delrin caps for the J-Tank. This saves on overall length of the tank. The Delrin end caps for J-Tank offer good shock absorption if a dropped tank strikes the cap, but the tube is unbreakable, anyway. IBTanked uses flat rubber washers between the tube and end cap for shock absorption.

I like IBTanked.

Chimney, glad you have both, your input will be helpful. Care to elaborate?

The J-Tanks are nice but in my humble opinion IBTanked tanks are just better quality. Plus they're glass so I don't have to worry about what kind of flavors I put into the tank possibly ruining it. I also feel like the J-Tank holds on to some of the old flavor after being properly cleaned & filled with a new flavor. But my biggest reason for saying IBTanked is just simply that the quality.
