Hi,

Just received my two tanks yesterday and I must say they are everything and more than I was expecting.
The only problem is that I cant seem to get the carto inside the tank for the life of me. Tried lubing it up etc but nothing will work - am I missing something?

I have never had this problem before and all I use are carto tanks.

The problem is that I cant even get the little o ring out. Frustration isnt the word.

Try a thumb tack, just wedge it underneath and pop it out. I had to swap out the o-rings with a pair of the included extras as well. With the original ones I just ended up poping the top cap off when trying to get a carto in. And yes that was with a filling tool and lubing the o-rings.

I can completely relate - wasted a full tank of juice earlier today because of that.
Tried a thumb tac but it honestly seems as though its glued in there. Weird that it is on so tight, considering the other two slide off with ease.

All of mine work fine after a short while breaking in. I prefer the tight orings because after use they don't become too loose. Do as Baditude said and contact OCD if you continue having issues and perhaps he will send you out some different sized orings...though if you purchased recently you may have then already.

I have 6 tanks from him 2 are frustrating. I put the endcaps under some hot water from the faucet until they were good and warm, dryed them with a towel, lubed the o rings with some ejuice and they slid right on. They now work fine after a couple of days fully assembled. YMMV

Thanks, I will try that later.

There used to be a video somewhere that showed how to remove the inner o ring with the slap yor mama filling tool. But I can't find it. He kinda used look like one of those dental picks and got some of it loose and then ran the adapter through and it came right out.
Not hard to find by putting in your keywords in the You Tube search.

I bought a pyrex tank from my local b&m that is working very similar. I had never had issues with inner o-rings and inserting cartos with my three phiniacs, but with this tank even with a slap-yo-momma getting the carto in/out is hard. I started using a folded paper towel to use to apply force to the bottom of the carto to get it in or to the slap-yo-momma to get it out.

The only up-side is that the outer o-rings are also so tight that the end-caps never want to pop off when I do this, although out of habit I always support my end-caps. I had feared this would quickly destroy the inner o-rings, but they are still pretty much pristine. Cheers!

Sorry you seem to be having this issue. I have these tanks and never have this issue are they a bit snug yes but i prefer it that way this way i know it wont leak. But if they are so tight then you need to def switch out with some of the dif ones that were sent with your tanks. I use the blunt end of a needle to pry a bit and tweezers to pull out. Just be carfull that what ever you use doesnt damage the caps or you could be allowing room for air to get through and leakage.

If this is still an issue then like Bad said you deff need to let OCD know in his thread. Because this might be something he isnt aware of so as to be able to help you fix it and it could be a poss that the manufacture slacked off making this batch or sent the wrong ones. Either way you should let OCD know because he will do everything in his power to make things right for you.

We are having the same problems over here with both mine and hubby's tanks. They are the best tank every when finally filled, but dang! I gave up. I have mine sitting on the mod with that space as the hole is in the tank, and my drip tip is catching the other end. I will try changing o rings if i ever calm down, lol. Over an hour trying and lots of lost juice. Seems like it takes 4 or 5 times before it goes in as it should.
