I've read here and watched Basilrays review on their products and they are all good. When Basilray puts the end caps on it takes a light push. When I got mine it was a bit harder to do and when it got really hard I changed the o-rings. When it became impossible I put force to it which chipped the talk making it unusable.
I tried pushing it straight in, straight in while twisting, and putting a bit of juice on the oring and inside of the tube. Either the ID was off or, more than likely it was my error.

How do you guys seat the end caps? This post is NOT to say this great company sent a bad product. I'm sure this was me but how hard can it be? These folks have been great but I obviously need help.

I said that I did. I thought it would slip right in, nope. I'm thinking that I may have put too much forse right off the bat and mabye squished the o ring which would make it near impossible to seat it. I'll see when I reorder.

I'm guessing too much force. You should post in their thread. I wouldn't be surprised if they would replace the tank.

Mine came with the end caps in. I did take one apart the other day for cleaning. I lightly lubed the orings and gently used a twisting motion while trying to keep the cap level and it slides in.

Thanks Blue Snake. OCD emailed me and is looking into it. I bought the tube again last night plus a smaller tank lots of o rings but I wanted the slap you mama type device which they were out of. I've been using a shorty drip tip which works well but not as good as one of those tools.
I think you're right on too much force and I probably tried to get the end caps started then pushed on opposing sides which chipped the glass.
Live and learn but the prices and products are great and so is their CS.

OCD worked everything out. New Mercedes and a new tube. That's pretty good CS. I bought a lot of o-ring spares. It was a lowly o-ring that brought the Space Shuttle down. Gotta be careful.
