Hopefully you got IBTanked's tank tool that doubles as a drip tip. This device will help you gain leverage when attempting to slide the carto in and out of the tank. You also want to keep a firm grip with your thumb and fingers on your other hand to keep the two endcaps firmly on the endcaps of the tank to keep them from inadvertantly coming apart.

The two videos posted below will demonstrate how to use the tool and also how to move the carto for tank refills:

Thank you for your replies I think I've lost the tool:/ I'll just have to try without it lol
Should you happen to have a skinny drip tip that is narrow enough to pass through the tank's end caps, you can use that in the same way as a tank accessory tool and use it to push the carto out of the tank.

Ibtanks fit tight, like they should. I had trouble too the first few times, I was always knocking the bottom ring off and spilling juice everywhere. Get the Slap Yo Momma tool, it's a lifesaver. I hold the SYM tool in my right palm and use my right fingers to pull the bottom ring up. Make sure your fingers are only under the bottom ring or you'll make a mess. It kind of hurts, but use your right hand fingers to pull the bottom ring up by bracing the SYM tool against your right palm. You have to pull hard, I sometimes can wedge a guitar pick between the bottom ring and my mod and pry it a bit.

Like bad said hold your end caps in place with thumbs and fingers while slowly working carto into place. Easy does it. And the slap yo mama tool from big daddy vapor does make this a lot easier. Although that has also popped my caps if I rushed it and didn't hold them down .
