Hey guys, so I have a new iClear 30 that came with my MVP 2.0. Washed it out, and I noticed that a couple of the wicks just slightly started to tear, ie: little threads seem to be coming away from the actual wick itself. Is this normal, and is it safe to vape like this? I've heard nasty things about silica and wonder if because these threads seem "divergent" it would have any negative effects.

Silica wicks will eventually break apart and you can vape the fibers, but they are too big to get into the lungs (unlike silica dust you may have heard about). You might get some throat irritation is about all.
The silica used in wicks are "stretched" into fibers. They won't break into small enough bits to enter the lungs.

I work directly with Silica sand and that's the stuff you need to worry about. Specially when it gets crushed and turns into dust that you can easily inhale into your lungs. Silica wick is nothing like Silica sand or dust I would just recommend always having your Silica wick saturated with ejuice and the worst thing that can happen is a nasty tasting dry hit lol
