Hi, I just got the smok r200 with a Griffin.
I did my firts resistence yesterday, I was a disaster but after 1 hour I did 2 resistences that when I press the fire button burns perfectly togheter ( I used a Clapton coil 28+32 g ).
My questions are:
1)How often do I need to change my Clapton resistences?
2)How often do I need to change the cotton? ( I think when it starts taste bad )
3)What "dry burn" the coil means? And when I need to do it?
Thank you, and I hope you will understand what I wrote, because I'm an italian guy and my english is bad.
Bye

I change my Claptons once a month, the cotton depends on how gunky your juice is. Same goes for dry burning your coils. What I do is, whenever flavor starts being muted or burned I take the cotton out, clean the excess liquid from the coil with a cloth, pulse it at 20W until it looks clean and burns evenly. Put in new cotton, prime it and done.
I do this every 4 days usually.

That's how I do it, hope it helps

1. I change my coils when they don't look clean after dry burning anymore.
2. When the flavor is muted or off, the wicks will also look a bit dirty sometimes. I don't have a set schedule for this and just change the wicks when I notice the difference.
3. Dry burning is when you fire your coils (are you are calling resistances), with no wick in them or juice, in order to clean them. You just want to get them to glow lightly, not too bright.

You'll learn to know when your wick/coil is getting gunked up and needs changing/cleaning, usually the vapor or flavor production falls off and you need to apply more power (or temperature) to get the same vape that you were getting before.

A 'dry burn' or dry fire is simply applying power to your coil without any wick and allowing it to 'glow' to burn off any built up juice gunk. (the difference between 'fire' and 'burn' is the absence of 'gunk' to literally burn up and smoke off the coil)

My sweet spot for vaping is .8-.9 ohms.

My coils last 2 1/2-3 months.

After i vape 12-15 ml ( or when ever it tastes off) i PULL out tge wick and Dry burn the coils to burn the gunk off
After burning the gunk off tge coiks insery a new wick. Fill my Tank and off to the races again.

    Definitely not Idiot Questions.

Coils - Always work for a good center out heating
Dry Burn when any build up is seen while replacing Wicking
Pulse Burn off at a few seconds each time until a light glow is produced.
Care taken to NOT overheat the surrounding parts. Allow some cooling if overly crusted and work in repeat sessions.

Change wicking whenever you feel flavor has dropped off and no longer enjoyable.

Careful maintenance can keep coils in good condition for many months. I have gone over 6 months with some builds.

Wicks get changed from 2 to 10 plus tank fills depending on drop off of flavor.

    Volume/Blend dictates change, not time.
