Hi, new to vaping (2months), analog free for 15 days after smoking for about 35 years, and not missing it a BIT!!!.... and am absorbing info here to decide what to buy after my SmokeTip starter kit that was given to me. I read a lot about certain styles and/or models (EGO) that leak if not stored or carried this way or that. Which ones are best to carry around in your pocket for all around daily use? Your favorites? I want to get away from a cigarette-looking PV and something that is easy to use in public and not be hassled..... you know "Oh, this isn't a CIGARETTE, it's my INHALER!!!" Thanks for any input, it will save a few sleepless nites looking thru all the threads and posts. HAHA, I will anyway, probably.....too much good stuff!!!

I really like my t tank. Its the second ive had. Since i started by buying one of those e-lites kits. I knew there was something good in the concept, but the thing was awful. To be honest its mostly about personal preference but i walk around with mine unscrewed in my pocket all day and havent had any problems apart from one atty uses up juice a bit faster than the other no leakage or anything. I would seriously recommend it to anyome

All ecigs can leak because the juice has to get to the atomizer coil and the air around the atomizer has to get to your mouth. BTW you have a KR808D-1

Cartridges on atomizers are more likely to leak than cartomizers (Smoketip uses cartomizers). Properly filled stuffing cartomizers that are cleaned up well and not overfilled should be less likely to drip than sloppily filled stuffing cartomizers or most reservoir cartomizers. If you use juice with some VG in it that may be a bit less likely to drip than 100% PG.

I use juices like 80PG/20VG (any more Vg and my cartos seem sluggish). I pop the soft cap and add juice by dripping into the stuffing while holding a bit of tissue on the threaded end hole. When done I clean it up very well - dry the threaded end, puff into the threaded end to clear the central air channel (all cartos I use have a central air channel - I use Vapor4Life WOW cartos on my KR808D-1), and if the top of the stuffing looks too wet I touch a tissue to it. I rarely get leaks. if you push juice in blind with a carto condom or use tricks to force in more juice then maybe you get leaks more often.

And I recommend you use nice sealed manual batteries. Other KR808D-1 models... The SmokeImage Volt manual batteries are well sealed on the threaded end but have a tiny button. The new standard KR808D-1 manual batteries with the hard gold-color button are pretty well sealed and have a larger button (Vapor4Life.com sells ones like that). Auto batteries are never sealed and are prone to being damaged or killed by juice leaks.

I agree with dormouse, cartomizers are the least likely to leak... Tanks always run the risk, and cartridges, well, they just don't vape well, and can leak if they're not filled properly.

With that said, I use tanks, and when they leak, that doesn't necessarily mean it's leaking out of the device and into my pocket... Juice is leaking into the atomizer from the tank, but usually it's so little it doesn't leak out of the atomizer. That's not to say that it can't...

Also, just so you aren't scared off, the eGo is a battery, and that's not the part you have to worry about leaking. eGo tanks can leak, but the eGo battery with a good cartomizer is definitely a good way to go, and it doesn't look anything like an analog. I feel like a billboard tonight, but I'm really taken by the quality to price ratio of the eGo batteries, and I also love the fact that you can use so many different types of liquid delivery systems with it. It can use anything threaded for a 510 in addition to the eGo tanks, so you've got cartomizers, clearomizers, atomizers, tanks, tankomisers, you name it, and you can probably bolt one on..

I would buy a good eGo kit that comes with some good cartomizers and see if that does the trick for you... if not you can try any number of other setups without replacing your battery.

Hope that helps, and welcome aboard!

Congrats on your success and welcome to ECF. If you really want to get away from cig looking devices check out some mods. My favorite is the Reo (its my avatar pic). I havent had a problem with leaking yet after 6 weeks. THere are a lot of great products out there. Keep on researching and asking questions. The search for YOUR perfect PV can be a long, but very fun road. Good luck and keep on vaping!

When I was using my KR808D-1, I was so happy it got me off the cigs. But the battery did not last all day. The cartomizers needed filling so often it was just taking to much of my time. I started looking for different alternatives.

I wanted a PV that I could take to work and not worry about having enough cartomizers and juice to last me all day. I wanted to be able to be confident that my batteries would not run out several times a day.

I looked at the VV mods and saw that my juice problem would not be solved. Why would I want to have some huge battery and a cart to keep filling? Sure they are really sharp, precision made and big, but unless they have a juice bottle hanging off the side, they would not work for me.

I saw different tank systems, but they seemed to have problems of their own. When the battery would not hold a charge you had to replace half the PV.

The REO seemed the perfect choice. I looked at the other box mods that are out there also. But I was sold on the REO because it was mechanical, sturdy, and got good reviews all around. It also seemed to be well crafted with top of the line materials. The Grand and Mini are made of aircraft grade aluminum.

The REO Mini and Mini Woodvil have a 3ml bottle for juice and a 3.7v battery
The REO Grand and Woodvil have a 6ml bottle for juice and a 3.7 battery

Batteries last different lengths of time depending on your vaping. A battery in the Mini's usually 4 hours if using the recommended battery. A battery in the Woodvil and Grand will usually last 8 hours if using the recommended battery. These times will vary.

My vaping needs have been met, with simplicity and quality.

I bought my first a Grand in the classifieds.
Now 5 months later I have just purchased my 11th REO.

Yes, they are that good!!
