Is it me (probably), or are certain or a lot of cheap(er) box mods suddenly being priced slashed or phased out, or is there a problem with design or something? Cause I went to the FreedomSmokes USA store to look at their Joye V3 Stick and they said they are discontinuing Box mods. Then I went online to look specifically for Box Mods (not Reo's or higher end models), and several places either didn't sell them any more or their web sites were down. Is demand for them high or really low, I mean the $30-$60 Kits, or is it something else I don't know about? I want to get away from a cigarette looking PV, and don't want an eGO style, either (I know.....picky,picky,picky!!). After researching them, I think I've decided to get a mid priced Box mod to carry around for daily use such as a Janty Stick, or Nhaler's Boge Revolution V2, and probably a Reo for my quality go to PV. I'd like a 3.7V unit with a 14500 Ultrafire battery for longer vapes between fill-ups type setup. Are these good choices for those of you who are partial to Box Mods? Thanks for any tips you can offer me. 35 days analog free!!! Thank you ECF!

Yes, generic 3.7V MODs are becoming obsolete as the variable voltage MODs are superior in design and overall vaping experience.

And if you can't afford a V.V. MOD?

With a little bit of learning, you can easily make one yourself for a small fraction of what someone else would charge you to build it for you.

Just ask for what you're wanting and someone WILL point you to it!

FYI...a Janty Stick is a 3.7V PV which you can make yourself in less than a few hours.

And if you have additional questions, just ask. :D

Decisions, decisions, decisions.......... You great people just made my life miserably wonderful!!! (Literally), I'll take one of those, and one of those, and one of those........ Each of you gave me great choices and I'm looking at all my options. keencombative, as for Smoktek, their mods are cheap (price wise) AND well made. I think they would be a great Mod starter kit for "blue collar" days, as would a Ken's Box Mod. Shekinahsgroom, I can't use my hands anymore to make anything, let alone build something electronics oriented (nerve damage both hands, plates, screws, fused thumbs & electronic nerve stimulator implants to help with pain) so I have enough trouble just screwing in cartos, and when I get the Mods, to try to work the switch. My honey refills my cartos for me (thank goodness for a loving wife who's glad her old man doesn't smoke anymore!). So I don't use atty's, just cartos, and I want the Mod instead of cig, tube, or eGo style for controllability, stealth, pocket placement, and all around "I don't have to explain what I'm doing so people don't bug me" non-cig perception! Washvap & Ember, the Vmods and especially the Old Goat Mods are perfect, also the same goes for the other suggestions, guys. I think I'll save the big bucks for the REO, though...., every time I read about it or see reviews or comments, well all that's said about it is ALL good. What's the best cartos for the 3.7v units, and what's the best (510, etc) carto for the 5v mods? Thanks again for your thoughtful comments. Thanks ECF for showing me the way! 35 days analog free.....

Why buy a cheap mod when you ca buy a quality mod for life ? Personally I am a Reo fan I cantspeak for other quality mods but I'm sure others can.
Cisco lr 306 attys are my first choice lr 510's are second but that is usualy a personal thing. Hope you find what your after either way.

Out of the VV box mods that have been mentioned above me, I've had the following with my opinions:

Smoktek.com - Nicely made and fits my hand. However it's basically built from madvapes parts and gets hot. I can hot box to the point that I am scared that I'll melt the plastic. The control dial is located under the battery door so it makes for a clean looking mod but I don't like the heat factor that I described. If you don't chainvape, this is a very nice mod but if you go at it like crazy...keep reading.

Madvapes.com - Same as Smokteks mod. However the control dial is located on the bottom right side. I got it hot enough that it heated the silicone and stuck the battery door. I finally got it off and applied a dab of Noalox on the door where the silicone would rest which resolved the problem but it will still get hot. Same as above, if you don't chainvape, this is a very nice mod but...keep reading.

Boxmods.net - Big Daddy and Big Brother are 2 excellent mods with Vari-cool built in. I have yet to get either of them hot and hopefully never will or it's repair time. I love both of them. The Big Daddy runs on 2 x 18650 batteries which last me 2 days or more of heavy vaping. The Big Brother runs on 2 x 14500 batteries and last me about a day. I highly recommend either of these if you want a well built box mod with variable voltage. If you want one that's pocket friendly, go with the Big Brother...Big Daddy will make your pants sag (still awesome but heavier and bigger).

FoxyBox mods are excellent quality and long lasting as well as durable. I own 4 of his -- and I like them better than my Reo mini. He makes a 3.7v, 5v and has begun to make a reasonably priced VV model. Check him out here:

You won't find a better made, more reliable box mod anywhere.

They look ok but I assure you I'd have broken them by now where the Reo is indestructible. One of mine was run over and other than a few scuffs it vapes like new.

Ill throw my lot in with stownz I got the Sgt vv tank mod when he did the first and it's just pure awesome. I don't use the bottom feeding as it mutes the flavor for me but I use it as a catch so any juice the comes out the bottom hole of my atty is just swept away. I'm using it mostly with cisco 306 and a 306-510 drip tip adapter. Also it doesn't have n amp cut off like a lot of super pricy pvs so dual coils work great on it. But I'm biased lol. All of the retailers mentioned are great so it's really just what your looking for n looking to spend
