Somewhere out there
I'm with the group that thinks a mechanical (or two or three) is the better bet to outlast FDA or legislative stupidity that threatens to eliminate access to vape gear in the future. Besides that, they're often prettier and more compact than most VV/VW devices.

What did haven't seen mentioned yet in this thread, is that you can also get a "kick" module that will add VW circuitry to a mechanical. If the kick should fail in the future, you toss it and keep on vaping in unregulated mode.

thank you rhean , by the way I've visited anatolia 6 years and loved it.

The situation is concerning of course , I believe there is a very strong lobby of Philip Morris which wants to kill the entire industry.
I will not be surprised that the decision to raise the tax on tobacco smoke brought it up , the government,Philip Morris and Pharma companies are afraid to loose the money and it doesn't seem like they want us to stop smoking , they prefer us to keep paying them taxes and eventually die .

We have 1 vendor who plans to appeal to the supreme court but who knows if Philip Morris won't get involved and invest a lot of money in lawyers to fight the local vendors , about 15-20% of israeli's smoke , only 5-10K of them vape so you understand what we are dealing with ?
Compared to Tobacco companies , we and our vendors are like small bugs they can step on , In the U.S they want to regulate them so they can make tax money out of vapers especially after the american supreme court kicked them in the .... , but here? it's easier for them to just ban it and direct us back to tobacco

Oh, wow! Anatolia is cool; the history is out of this world. I've always wanted to visit Israel, btw. Turkey is the only Middle Eastern nation I've ever lived in/visited.

btw it's terrifying that Phillip Morris and big pharma would have such control over any nation :/ Turks smoke like fiends, too; I believe nearly 30% of Turkish men do. It's a really nasty habit, and if you consider the less than stellar health care in many parts of Turkey, it's a killer.

My friend like any big company which puts a lot in revenue to governments , Tobacco companies are strong and they are lobbying all over the world and I will not be surprised if they give bribe to health ministries.

Also don't forget that many copy FDA protocols and i believe that even the FDA is corrupted to the core

When I think of "mechanicals" I always think of the tube ones and they give me a weird feeling. I can't tell the models apart and they remind me of pipe bombs. I keep forgetting that the Reo I use all the time is a mechanical. Lol!

I use Kayfuns on my VV mods and RM2s on my Reo.

Oh good I'm not the only one! I always forget to count them in the mech department. I'm with you on the tube thing. That's why I only have my beloved Reo-trio and a couple others. One being the Kamry epipe, the other being an Hcigar Hammer clone. Love them both to bits!

As everyone else said OP, a mech isn't required for an RBA. I run mine on my ProVari. But a mech is a good thing to have in your arsenal like everyone's said...just in case.

honestly I'm a bit scared of Mechanical mods because they are much less safe than the digital ones but I'll probably buy 1 just in case everything gets banned and my digital broke down or something

being scared of mech mods is not the way to be. be cautious. learn about why they are "less safe" and if need be, a kick can greatly help limit the potential hazards. get on youtube and check out 2 guys. RipTrippers and GrimmGreen. both of them have EXTREMELY informative videos that can help you understand what you need to know before building/buying a mech mod. but to be afraid is like insisting that youd rather ride a bicycle than a motorcycle because the explosions inside the engine scare you. but again, this is all relative to who you are and what you want.
