if I smoke the 0% Nicotine Liquids Then Is it Still Dangerous If My Spouse & I Are Trying To Conceive?

Hey folks,

This question has been bothering me for the LONGEST time. I've searched high and low on the internet and I can't find an answer to this question.

I was wondering. If my wife and I are trying to conceive and I create my own electronic cigarette vapor by JUST using Vegetable Glycerin, Food Flavoring, and Water (and I don't use ANY nicotine) then is smoking the electronic cigarette still harmful in any way? Can this still harm sperm or is it unhealthy if trying to conceive? I know that smoking REAL cigarettes when trying to conceive is dangeous but how about electronic cigarettes with absolutely NO nicotine? What besides the nicotine in an electronic cigarettes can possibly be harmful? I assume there are studies currently being done on Electronic Cigarettes. What besides nicotine is everyone sooo afraid of?

Thanks to anyone that can shed some light on my question. I REALLY can't find ANY answers on the internet regarding this question.

Thanks sooo much in advance once again! :)

Im not afraid of anything in my juice that i vape. JMO is that , we eat flavoring everyday, I use face cream everyday. just about everything put on your skin is absorbed a little bit and the same for vaping, everything you mentioned is all around you everyday weather you vape or not. My best advice would be to seek the opinion of your doctor if it would make you feel better.

All the articles I found seem to center on women and fertility and smoking. They all mention nicotine and 'smoke' (which contains carbon monoxide) - vapor does not contain these things.

How does smoking affect fertility?

I googled 'what in smoking interferes with conception' and got a bunch of hits.
Seems to be the reduced oxygen in blood, and diverse hormonal affects of cigarettes. Inhaling flavored steam doesn't seem to be mentioned - I doubt its relevant because it shouldn't be affecting your hormones or circulation if it contains only flavor and carrier medium. I'm not a research scientist though; just going by the info I;ve located in a 10 minute search.

Thanks CaptJay & Thanks MsSki For Commenting and sharing your opinions and some useful info with me. I REALLY appreciate it! :)

I'm still open to some more of your suggestions, opinions, or any helpful info that can shed light on this matter.

Thanks sooo much once again! I admit that I'm VERY paranoid but I'd rather be safe than sorry. :)

If you are using 0-nic, the only possible concern is your consumption of a few milliliters of vegetable glycerine each day. Glycerol is classified by the FDA the same as other sugar alcohols...so at the quantities you'd be using for vaping, there is a possibility of a slight laxative effect. I'm not a doctor, but I think there is a higher risk to the baby from drinking caffeine-free diet soda.

Thats a really good question!

I'm honestly not sure if anyone can answer your question accurately. Not many studies have been done about vaping imo.

I would look at it this way, anything foreign you put in your body could have a side effect on your health. Unless you breath oxygen without contaminates and eat food that has no chemicals or preservatives you could be increasing your risk.

Having said that there is a very slim chance anyone could do this today. We are all surrounded by this kind of stuff everyday. There are so many things in our daily lives that are far harder on our bodies than vaping some vg imo.

Some chemicals do cause birth defects, does vg and pg? I would say if you are worried about it just don't vape (especially if you are vaping 0 nicotine juice).

Darn it, now I'm gonna be wondering about this all night at work lol. I have not researched this at all so its just my opinion.
