if someone fires a mech without a topper attached, what is happening electrically?

as above. if someone holds the fire button on a (good quality and functional) mech mod with nothing screwed into the 510, what exactly is happening electrically? is this dangerous?

just curious. might be a stupid question, and i suspect the answer is "nothing" - but if so, why not?

Nothing happens - it's an open circuit - unless the mechanical is shorted for some reason.

nothing circuit isnt complete.... kinda like if one turns on a light on without a light bulb...nothing will happen.

No where for the electricity to go..and it wont go.

If you connect a wire to only 1 side of a battery, what happens? Absolutely nothing. That's essentially what you would be doing if you fired a mech without anything connected to it. It doesn't matter if its a second or 12 years (although your battery would probably be degraded completely in less than 12 years, but that would happen regardless of being in a mech and/or having the button pressed).
