Here let me play this one out for you, the petition has to reach an artificial threshold of signatures predetermined by the White House, who can move this number up or down as they see fit, check last weeks news....go ahead....Ill wait....

Then if a petition hits the required number of signatures, the White House doesn't legally have to do anything. Not that they ever promised to, the required number of signatures only gets you a response.

So let me save you the trouble, here is what you will get.

While I think calling fellow members dumb for trying to stop fed regs on e-cigs is out of line, I also think thread titles are over the top when they state that if the fed gov takes vaping away it's the fault of anyone who didn't sign a petition. If the thread title was something like, "Sign the petition, force a response" then I would have more respect for it. I hope we reach the needed signatures, but if we do, I don't expect it to save vaping. I just expect a carefully worded, non-committal response from the administration, just like the carefully worded, noncommittal responses the petitions that have succeeded have received. I think encouraging members to sign is great but letting them believe that reaching the 25000 signature goal will save vaping on its own is dishonest. So much more is needed and we can all help.
