Let me explain another thing, this is our best effort as a community right here, this petition, from here on out, it gets harder and harder to mobilize.

So this is it, our best effort, a petition to the guy who can't do anything, legally.

This isn't a best effort at all. As I stated earlier. This is the beginning. Just sign it. What harm will it do. You are wasting more time and energy by arguing about it. Why not just sign it?

I will tell you what....

Lets make this easy....

Give me ONE example of a legislative, or regulatory change that has occurred due to a petition to the White House.

Let's make this easy. Give me an example where not signing a petition did any good.

Victims of poisoned military base get health coverage

August 2012
After more than 135,000 people signed Jerry Ensminger's campaign on Change.org, President Obama has signed the Honoring America's Veterans and Caring for Camp Lejeune Families Act into law. The law provides health coverage for the military families who drank water contaminated with cancer-causing chemicals over a thirty-year period at the Camp Lejeune military base in North Carolina. Jerry, whose daughter Janey died in 1985 of childhood leukemia after drinking the water on the base, has been working for more than 15 years to win justice for the survivors of the largest water contamination scandal in U.S. history.

“I am thankful to everyone who has supported this work -- from our elected officials who chose to truly represent us to the 135,000 people across the country who signed my petition on Change.org. Thank you for standing with us. I know I can't bring my daughter back, but now Janey's memory will continue with honor and a message of hope," said Jerry.

Mother rids US schools of "pink slime"

March 2012
On March 6th, Bettina Seigel started a Change.org petition asking USDA to stop the use of LFTB in ground beef destined for school food. A mere nine days into the petition (when it reached over 200,000 signatures), USDA announced that starting in the fall of 2012 it will offer school districts a choice of beef either with LFTB or without the filler.

I can do this all day.

See, that's the thing I don't agree with necessarily.

I think this effort will make it easier to mobilize once we see what we are really fighting.
--This effort is making many more people aware of what is going on
--This effort is giving people practice at doing SOMETHING instead of nothing

One thing I'm sure of, though, is that our best effort will come when we really need it.
At that point we should have nearly every vendor involved and contacting their customers.

Neither of these qualify as petitions to the White House. That is my basic point.

I'm not even saying petitions don't work, I'm saying, we are petitioning the wrong person.

We should petition our individual congressman. Hell I can point you to plenty of petitions that worked as well.

READ what it is, I'm actually saying, THIS petition is a waste of time.

I hope and pray to God you are right. Because its going to take more than signing a petition to win this fight.

You are a waste of time, sir. I'm done talking to you. You are way too negative of a person and should keep to yourself. Just saying.

Prevent the FDA from placing harsh restrictions on e-cigarettes or e-juice. This agency has intentionally spread misinformation regarding their safety. It has made false claims. This category of products should therefor not be regulated by the FDA.

These products are a safer alternative to smoking and the FDA has spread false and misleading information about their safety. For example, the FDA has compared e-liquid, which consists of polyglycol, vegatable glycerine, flavoring, and nicotine to automotive anti freeze. The mixture is heated and vaporizes at a low temperature into a steam that satisfies smokers without all of the tars, metals, and pesticides that are found in the smoke of government approved cigarettes.

The FDA has a quit or die mentality that results in death for smokers. In fact, it would be better if Congress ordered the FDA to adopt a strict hands off policy for the FDA with regards to e-cigarettes and let States and municipalities develop their own strategies since the FDA has so far not acted in good faith, as an honest broker, or a science based agency, on behalf of the millions of smokers in the US.

It has let them down, made mis representations to the public, and Congress should order them off the case since they are at this point not serving public health interest but simply exercising power for powers sake.
Sincerely,
[Your name]
