That's not a real scenario for me, at least not now, I have enough supplies to vape for 3-5 years without buying a single new item. Hypothetically, I'd probably quit, I don't feel as addicted to vaping as I did with tobacco.

This right here -- I have 5 yrs worth of nicotine in the freezer, and a whole lot of hardware; the only things I really NEED to buy anymore are flavors, PG, VG, Shiseido cotton pads, and 29ga kanthal, and maybe some batteries from time to time -- none of which is actually *meant* for vaping, so I doubt the prices would go up too much.

But even if they did, I'd keep vaping. Might cut down a little, which I'm considering anyway, so no real biggie.

Anyone who wants to avoid the price-gouging of "FDA regulations," learn to build your own coils, learn to DIY, and stock up on nicotine NOW.

It's good to know so many are stocked up. Makes me confident that the underground market will thrive, even if all the people on this thread are just looking out for themselves.

Oh, and smoking currently has an underground market, so there's that little related nugget.

Anyway, to answer OP's question, like a couple others in this thread, I be dual using now. If vaping was around twice as expensive as smoking for the same amount (though not sure how that can be measured), I'd do both and not much would change. If it went beyond twice as expensive, I'd go underground market and continue on my merry way.

When I quit cigs and started vapin in January I was paying $34/carton for cigs. My monthly vaping budget is that or less per month and I am building inventory not depleting it.
I smoked 1-2 packs per day. I vape frugally and DIY all of my juice since it is better than what I can buy. And cheaper too. I also recoil/wick all of my coils.
One can always get flavorings and PG/VG. Nic may become an issue but I can probably do without that and keep on vaping.

Scenario A:
Vaping is more expensive and/or as expensive as cigarettes

Would u
A. Stick with vaping
B. Go back to smoking
C. Quit both for good

Scenario B:
Scientific studies show that vaping is harmful to your health and possibly higher chance for cancer and other respiratory diseases

Would u
A. Stick with vaping
B. Go back to smoking
C. Quit both for good

Scenario A:
The cost of vaping is like the cost of drinking: it depends on what you drink and how much of it.

Scenario B:
As with anything else, harm to health etc is more about how much of something, and not just the if of it.
And again the what of it makes alot of difference (as in what you vape).

Carry on vaping or quit altogether if vaping became prohibitively expensive, like many others I'm building my stock of nic liquid up and will have at least 7 years worth by next April which is when tpd will hit the UK. Long-term I'm not too worried research and evidence on ecigs won't stop and eventually governments will embrace it no doubt with a tax rate applied just gotta stock up enough to get you through the political stupid period.

C to both...

I highly doubt it will get that far but I don't think I can even remember a time where I didn't have something to vape or smoke. If it really went that hardcore and given how low my nicotine consumption is these days I'd rule just to quit and wipe the slate clean. I certainly wouldn't line anyone's pocket especially if I had no choice where my stuff came from.

Yeah... the "5 yrs' worth of nicotine" in my freezer, I figured that 5 yrs when I was using 10mg. I've gotten down to 7.5mg so far, and just about to mix up some 7mg, and I expect to be at 5mg by the time it's really cold weather -- which would double that 5 yrs' worth, to 10.

Today, I thought it would be a good idea to go a little easier on vaping, so I could go a little easier on my asthma meds, and hopefully sleep tonight; it really hasn't been that difficult at all, to vape somewhat less, though I remember very well that when I tried to smoke less, it usually made me smoke MORE, just from the stress of trying to smoke less.

Even though I still have a small amount of WTA in my vape -- 1.8% -- this vaping thing really does seem like a different animal entirely, from the smoking thing -- smoking was a real addiction, but vaping seems more like... a pleasant thing to do, one which I did for a long time anytime I thought of smoking... but I don't ever really think of smoking anymore, except to be glad it's no longer part of my life. Now vaping is just... a pleasant thing to do.

How odd. Emotionally, I think I'm still pretty far from being willing to consider giving up vaping entirely... but you know, I think maybe I can see that option, in the distance.
