Did anyone read the comments section of this article? I've never seen so much concentrated stupidity in just a few comments.
These people claim to be progressive/liberal?
As a lifelong progressive, I support people's right to make their own choices about what to do with their bodies. Apparently many other people don't quite see things the same way.

This is clearly an attempt by reactionary neoliberal backers of corporate rule to cement their control over any form of nicotine. It's really ridiculous and I'm afraid big tobacco will take over the vape market now that they have realized that vaping is the future of nicotine.

I don't know if this is typical but just reporting some real life experience with teens and vaping. My Grandson (16) and his circle of friends got into the vaping scene. I'm happy to say, they've all gone through that fad and have given them up. (Now 17). They have not taken up smoking.

If vaping had not been a 'thing', how many of those friends would have tried smoking and then when they were ready to stop said fad would not be able to because they were now addicted?

I say thank god for vaping. If not for vaping, there would have been more cigarette smokers from the teen sector.

This is exactly what I always expected would happen.
Well, actually, not quite.

Because I never really thought teens would go for it.
Too much hassle, and I figured vapers probably looked like dorks.

But for the same reasons I never thought it would become popular with teens...
I still think it won't last all that long as a fad...
