Don't get me wrong, vaping is awesome. I've been doing it for more than five weeks now and I had only one cigarette today. But I also spent a good amount of time screwing with the equipment and juices. It's kind of fun but it's also a PITA at times. I got to thinking, if we can send a rover to Mars and have it roll around on the surface drilling holes and collecting dust for molecular analysis, then I have to believe we can develop a way to produce flavored vapor that not only kicks .... but does it each and every time, hit after hit after hit without ever having to screw around with the equipment or juice.

In time. :2cool:

Just get a Provari. :p

I understand what you are saying. The area that really needs to be addressed by manufacturers is in the juice delivery system to the heating coils, in my opinion. Cartomizers seem pretty primitive in design to me, and quality control leaves much to be desired. The clearos and ce3's take a different route, but they have their flaws also. The rebuildable juice feeder atomizer/tanks may be a great tool, but still require a bit more fiddling than I care to do. I'd like to see something that works right out of the box and requires minimal if any maintance.

Hey, if I had 820 billion dollars, I think I could take care of your vaping issues...

I dont think there is any item or accessory that is flawless. I have a vivi nova and though its really nice and easy, it has its quirks and fiddling occasionally. As far as simplicity theres dripping into an atty, but then theres constant dripping. You could go with a simple carto but theres the filling and the constant refills. If you can afford it there are always the prefilled cartos.

I like a carto/ tank. Its pretty simple and can keep you going for a day or so depending oh how much you vape. There is always something to fiddle with put once you get the system you like that gives you the type of taste and vapor production than its just a matter of practice and it becomes normal and easy.

With cigarettes, theres having to constantly buy more, and driving. Than theres the "...." disposals and the odor and the nic stains, and teeth stains and of course the physical nuisance , damage to your lungs etc , than you have to go to the doctor and take meds and have kemo, and or oxygen therapy etc etc etc.

I think most of the companies already do that - the hard part is the human factor. your body is inconsistent! the last thing you drank or ate changes the flavor of what you are currently vaping, a cold keeps you from smelling - and thats most of what flavor is.

even the atmosphere and weather changes your vaping experience - a humid day adds just enough moisture to your vape that it changes the flavor or a dry day dries out your sinuses....blah blah blah

If you can figure out a way to make the HUMAN factor 100% fool proof the rest will fall into place.
honestly though that sounds rather boring. we tend to ignore things that are predictable and we dont appreciate them either! the things we appreciate most are those things that present themselves as the antitheses of the disaster we expect!

I think I have to agree with the general sentiment here. The potential that e-cigarettes have in their current forms begs you to wonder how much that potential could grow, or how much faster it could be realized if the learning curve or "fiddle factor" could be halved or quartered by simpler and still more effective delivery systems. Unfortunately, so many smokers that refuse to believe smoking is as deadly as it is (or that e-cigarettes are a legitimate alternative) are able to pad their dismissal of vaping by comparing a two part system of lighter and cigarette to the multitude of things that can go into PVs and APVs.

That said, the wonderful thing is that vapers everywhere will always counteract these hurdles with their knowledge, helpfulness and kindness.

Invent a small ultrasonic atomizer that works well and doesn't clog. Maybe with an "air heater" on the inlets to warm the rest of the vape.

Oh... and flying cars. We're supposed to have them by now. And I don't mean that one guy with the jet-engine turbine "helicopter" car. I mean Jetsons. Best if it collapses into a briefcase, but that's optional. :)

High tech will enhance the ecig as time goes on. The key to consistent vaping is constant voltage and efficient atomization. Lower priced ecigs can satisfy the urges as you quit smoking, but the larger the battery, the longer time you have before it begins to fade in voltage. PWM (pulse width modulation) devices deliver the same voltage from start to battery charge death.

The Provari uses a 2000mah IMR battery and a really good PWM circuit that delivers the same vape from start to finish and it's well controlled to stay right in spec. There are many others that will do that also. A much less expensive alternative is the eGo Twist.

Using low resistance cartos is a good way to increased the vape quality and satisfaction. 2 ohms at 3.7v is a good starting point for a good vape.

In the current climate it isn't going to happen. Can it be done? You bet and it would be relatively cheap compared to the Mars rover but, in the current environment, no one will pony up the money to make it happen. It'll still take millions. No one can tell which country or region will ban them next. You can't tell how they will be regulated but, you are pretty sure they will be. No one wants to sink millions into developing a product only to find they can't sell it.

Look at what's happening now. The modders forums amount to Smoketech's R&D department. We are their testers and we pay for the privilege to get endless revisions. The manufacturers are spending as little as possible to bring these products to market. They aren't striving for quality or consistency. We aren't getting the properly developed products we are used to in other areas and until the manufacturers can be more certain of getting a return on their investment, we won't
