I HAD $120 at the beginning of this month and got: 1 SVD, at $37, a little Bagua clone at $20 for prettiness, and a second MVP, the v.2 at $45. That made it $102. With the rest I got replacement heads for my PTs, my KWX6s, my Evods... Very happy and with far too much stuff!
personally I think i would suck it up, head over to sams club and pick up a case of ramen, and pop the extra 20 on a provari and be done with mods for quite some time.

You ruled out mech mods, so my first thought to spend $20 more and buy a Reo Grand is out. You ruled out the ProVari, so my second thought to spend $30 more and buy a blem ProVari is out.
With those two out the door, I'd probably opt for an MVP 2.0, an SVD or a Sigelei ZMax, whichever trips your trigger.

Sigelei Zmax, once my favorite, now second only to the ProVari. The Vamo is a great deal, I just like the Zmax better. Take your wife out for a nice evening, or put the extra money back for the next ProVari you will almost certainly get. Zmax or Vamo will then make a great backup or just a handy extra device to have around.

The Tecs device I have actually has menu settings to use the button to turn on and off the flashlight as well as a mode called glint, which basically makes it into a strobe.
I can think of 3 good reasons to go with a Vamo V3 over the V2.
1 OLED display
2 Removable top cap allows for easy cleaning and assures ALL 510/eGo threaded devices are compatible
3 O ring insulator issue addressed in V3

Basically my main reason for wanting the vv/vw is because I'm finding that depending on the juice and device I need to adjust my watts in order to get the most satisfying vape. As for the provari, I could swing $150 for a blem, but then I need to add the batteries and charger which I don't have and that's going to put me around $200. And it's not that I couldn't afford it, but we just got married not long ago and just combined our funds (we had been living together for 5 years, but had always had our finances separate) so we're still figuring what we can spend/save.etc...
As for the wife getting the hand me down I should explain. She doesn't smoke nor vape near as much as myself so she doesn't really need OR want to buy some expensive mod for herself, she will be more than happy with the eVic. Also, these will be shared for the most part depending where we are.

Also, I'm not into the Vamo AT ALL. I've watched reviews, read reviews, and I just don't like the way it looks.
