What the heck are you waiting for???

Went with the wife to see it last night, and I was completely blown away. A good story, with absolutely amazing visuals. I thought the whole 3d thing was going to be a little hokey, but I was amazed by how nice it was.

I would definitely recommend that you see this movie if you are even "kinda sorta" thinking about it. You won't be disappointed!

I'm big into 3d graphics, I can't wait till this comes out on bluray... I hate movie theaters, I can't sit still long enough to watch a whole movie I usually have to pause half way through and get up for a few minutes so theaters don't really accommodate my needs. Can't wait to see this though!

Saw this in imax 3d, and it was one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. Absolutely amazing, amazing story, as well as the visuals being beatiful. I would recommend seeing this in theaters, not dling a crappy quality copy on the net. I'm gonna have to see it again, given the choice of seeing anything in the movies, or avatar for the 2nd or third time I would go see avatar.

To be honest with you, I was so immersed in the graphics that I paid no attention at all to the 3D. Sometimes I removed the goggles to make sure there was 3D. Really great movie.

And that's the opinion I wanted to hear about paying extra to go the IMAX route. Thank you for that.

Saw it for the 2nd time last night with a few friends who hadn't seen it, it really is a beautiful movie. Also it wasn't the usual stuff jumps out and pretends to kick you in the face type of 3D like someone above said, but I want to say the 3D helped make everything so aesthetically pleasing.

Thanks for the update. I'm probably going to see it this weekend, barring snow keeps the mother-in-law from flying home the 25th.

well, it was 3D but on a regular screen, not IMAX. Maybe that is why the 3D did not get me. The point is this movie is quite awesome, no matter the format.

I like the IMAX because along with the bigger screen, they tune the sound to the theater.

I finally got the MIL shipped back home, and got a chance to go see it (apparently with everyone else around here), IMAX was freaking sold out for the next 2 showings. But even with the standard 3D, all I can say is WOW! JC has really knocked one out of the park with this one. Even the wife is willing to shell out more to go see it again in IMAX. The CG work in this is truly remarkable.

I saw this last night, but not in 3D. I bet that was pretty cool. I forgot they offered it in 3D, but I did say to my husband that it probably was, considering some of the scenes -classic 3D action.

The story was basically "Dances with Wolves" on another planet, but the world itself was a huge part of the story visually. I was a little disappointed with the lack of creativity with the creatures - the film maker had the whole universe to choose from and he basically made creatures that mirrored earth creatures, but with lots of fangs and really big. I would have thought he would talk to biologists and scientists knowledgable in evolution to come up with some really unique lifeforms for another planet! But, it was still a lot of fun to watch!!
