expect the powers that be to make better fools.

So, I changed the attie on my new ggts, and read somewhere that you should pull the pin inside the top cap out slightly, screw on the attie, and the pin will re seat itself when top is screwed back on.

Well, I went a bit beyond slightly, and pulled the pin out completely. I tried pushing it back in, but something was causing it to hang up and not slide back. Looking into the attie end I saw something inside, and fished out the smallest o ring I've ever seen. Tried again, and the pin slid in with little resistance. I put the o ring over the pin, and pushed it down the pin and everything seems to be working fine.

This has taught this ole fool a valuable lesson, don't mess with something you don't understand. :)

So o-ring is now inside the plastic Mor my friend?

I pushed the pin back in as far as it would go, and from the attie side slipped the o ring over the pin and slid it down as far as it would go. Is this not where it should be? I didn't want to disassemble the whole cap, not knowing how many other small parts are in there

Kinda off topic but well kinda not. I always wondered why in the military the claymore mines would say front towards enemy, I mean wouldn't that go without saying? Why on Gods green Earth would you point it at yourself? Then I ran a range and saw how many people somehow managed to point it at themselves. It's a good thing we practice with duds first.

ps. I'm only lurking on this subforum because I'm considering buying one of these bad boys sometime in the near future.

Moradiss,

If you ever do take the GGTS apart, never fear. It is easy to disassemble and reassemble even for the mechanically uninclined such as myself.

Plus, the people on this board are always eager to help.

Brad, for the same reason that hair dryers say not to use while in the tub?! The difference between genius and stupidity is that genius has limits. :)

Its not really that I'm afraid to take it apart, just that it's only a couple days old. I'm sure I will have it apart eventually, though I may need to buy a second one first, just in case. :)

Glad ya told me about the hair dryer, I was just headed off to take a shower. :p

the small o-ring has to be inside the plastic. If o-ring is visible then its position is not right. If your situation is this then please tell me and I will give you the proper instructions to fix it easy Mor my friend:)

Hi Imeo. When I take the attie off, I can see the oring that I put back on. If I push the pin all the way in, the o ring is right on the tip of the pin

I see. Then o-ring is in wrong position Mor. If you pull the pin and it get out then you have the latest pin version that dont have threads on the place that touch the atomizer, right? If yes, I will tell you what to do

No threads on the pin here. The small tip of the pin that touches the atomizer has a small slot cut in it

Sorry for my delay friend:)

ok, you have one visible o-ring and one inside the plastic now. So take off the visible one and put it on table.
Then unscrew the polygonal nut and take it off with the pin together
If you dont see the second o-ring then its inside the plastic, so put the pin from the other side of the connector to put it out
Now, put the polygonal nut inside the pin while pin is stand up (if you got them apart)
Then put the 2 o-rings through the pin until they reach the polygonal nut
Now put the polugonal nut with the pin inside the plastic and screw them carefully inside the plastic. Dont use pliers, just your hands.

Thats it

No need for apologies, Imeo, I appreciate you taking time to walk me through this. I understand the directions completely, unfortunately the second o ring split. I will head to the hardware store in the morning with the good o ring and hopefully find another, along with a few spares.

Thank you again for all the help

Edited to add...

If you could tell me the size of the o ring it would help in hunting one down. :)

for now just put only the one, it will work but maybe you will see a drop inside the GG tube, maybe not.
The o-ring I use is 2mm internal diameter and 1mm width
