You'll KNOW when to clean it. It gets VERY gummy. I clean mine out every few days (maybe a week, depending on the juice).
I just hold it with a pair of tweezers under very hot water for a minute...squeeze the water out, and lie flat. It's good to go shortly thereafter.

Thx. BA, (love the moniker by the way), but found that holding under very hot water with tweezers still leaves a lingering taste from the previous juice. Not using clove or menthol, just a really weak coffee. I thought I read something about white vinegar, but that may have been for the atty.
1. How many times (while using the same flavor) do you use/fill before washing.
2. What is your recommendation for the best way to wash/clean the foam and cartridge.
I am using the Joye510 and Tornado.

Um... I clean about once a week. Although I'm using white Fluval.
I give it an alcohol soak, and dry for a few hours... works like a charm.
I never clean mine I just toss it because its so cheap. .75 cents for a package of 10. and I never really notice it holding a certain flavor if you just give it a squeeze.
I throw them out, 10.99 for a zillion of them from PetCo. PLUS I get my Pet Pals discount. just like an ECF coupon code I do not have to search for!!

I think the exact number of cart fills is one zillion five hundred and twenty three.
Don't hold me to the number, but it is a lot.

I usually just take it out of the cart every time I refill and squeeze it in a paper towel or rag. There's usually not much left. I really don't wash mine. If I don't like the way it feels I just put in a new piece.
I clean my carts and filler nearly every night. I just wash them under hot tap water, let the sit for the night and am good to go in the morning. It's just part of my evening routine now. After a few weeks the blue foam seems to get a little gummy or like its not the right consistency, so I pitch it then and get another chunk. At this rate the blue foam that I have will last generations!
