I will answer your question: literally and in the first person. But first, the overriding piece of advice (a.k.a. The First Law of vaping)*: There is no one best e-cig ... for all vapers.

* Actually, that is the second law of vaping. The first law is: Thou shalt not market e-cigs to minors nor make health claims about them.

My personal answer: The Boge Leo. I described this in some detail in my review. However, I don't necessarily recommend it for a first-time vaper. For one thing, the Leo is not compatible with anything else. For another, the Leo is quite large: 153mm long by 15mm diameter.

I think that most first time vapers would prefer either the cartomizer-based Kr8 or a 510-based Fat Batt (i.e., the eGO). I lay out my reasons and describe them in this article.

For a new vaper?

+1 for the Ego. Wish we had this little thing when I started vaping.

An ego or Riva would be best,the leo is a cute toy but impractical for a new user.The Kr808 is also nice and I recomend it often.

For the "inhaled feel" of an analog, plus consistency and lower maintenance cost it would either be a good 5 volt PV such as the GLV2 (5 volt version) or a good variable volt PV. I would have saved much money and much less frustration.
