Nice painful analogy. LOL

The analogy is more like, smoking analogs is like wiping your .... with poision ivy. Then you find Smoking Everywhere (i.e. toilet paper) for 100 bucks a roll. Then you find that you can just go to the grocery store and buy a 4 roll pack of toilet paper on sale for 1 buck.

I was going to post the exact same thing, but you beat me to it. :)

I'm so glad my intro into vaping was from a nice lady at the airport who was using a 501. While I opted to go for the KR-808, she spurred me on to research before buying.

I'd never actually seen a PV in person until my first one arrived in the mail. My decision to purchase my first was based on internet research, particularly this forum.

Upon learning that I needed to think about my 400.00 initial ecig investment, the young lady who worked at the mall kiosk in my local mall got shamefully close to me and whispered: "don't you like me?"

wow... I wasn't even alone... I was with my lady!

Sounds like you could have got more than just a pack of carts for free!

The only thing that makes me okay with having been suckered into the SE trap, is that I got a lifetime (or as long as they stay in business, I suppose) warranty on the battery/atomizer, so now that I have the PTB mod and eliquid, I don't have to worry about buying replacements if anything craps out. Didn't stop me from also getting a 901, but still makes me feel more justified in having overpaid in terms of long term spending.

I will never complain about that first $250 I paid for my that POS SE thing I bought at the mall. Without it I'd be smelling like an ashtray with a $350 per month habit that's killing me. Thank you charming kiosk guy!! But more to the point thank you Cignot, FSUSA, Vapor station, Vapor Junction, ECF, Mrs. T's, Tasty Vapor, and so on and on...........

I ran into one of these guys on vacation with my trusty krusty KR8 in hand. I was shopping with the gf and spotted the kiosk from about half way across the mall and make a b line for it. There was actually a small crowd of onlookers watching the guy go on and on about the $200 "investment". After a quick demonstration there's a few people really interested so I break out my KR8 and start vaping (if the mall guy can do it I figure security isn't going to kick me out). I have a fresh XL battery and full cartos so I'm giving off decent plumes. He sees this and asks me how I like it loudly as I think he thinks I'm one of his happy customers. I go on and on about how I love it and it's really changed my health and that I've been doing it for almost a year.
He smiles and the onlookers look thoroughly impressed. Then I inform him that I paid $45 for my kit, give him the estimated monthly cost of my upkeep and the suppliers I buy from online. He smile quickly turns upside down and people's eyes get huge at the difference in cost that I pay and how much they were about to drop on an inferior product. He then goes on about superior flavor and such so I open up my case and show off my pineapple upside down cake, german chocolate cake, dr. pepper, tobacco, and maple pecan doughnut cartos. I then hand out a few cards from the vendors I like with this forum addy written on the back.
Moral of the story? Always ask your vendors for extra business cards and write down this forum addy on the back.
The color of red that the salesman's face turned was kinda neat also. :)

Some funny, funny stories in this thread. The most recent, one lol... I wish, I wish I had been there as a casual observor!

Lucky for me, where I live, there are lots of actual high st stores for ecigs and juice. With the cheapest being Janty and the rest are all high volt devices mostly. Even the DEKANG store only sells hv pvs

The down side is the very high costs.... 14usd for 10ml of juice... ouch.... 159usd for my ego-t kit....ouch.... wait, that's still cheaper than a SE kit tho... ha ha

i got lucky and my first purchase was an ego. i paid a bit too much for it, because i got it from a reseller site. but i've been reading here for a while and have found liquids that i like and i'm good. my mother-in-law insists on buying locally so she has a no.7. its not awful but its not good. she's happy with it but i just ordered a riva for her without her knowing. combine that with some juices i'm trying out for her and i feel confident she'll toss the no.7 in a drawer.

the overpricing doesn't bother me, the market will crush them. but the outrageous claims about "500 puffs" from a disposable or 5-10 cigs from one cart.. that's kick-in-the-balls worthy.

My first e-cig encounter was a SE stand in my local mall, after i tried it i was very curious, I left there and went straight to their website when i got home, i then stumbled upon a few different online retailers for 510's and made my final decision to pick up a 510 what a load of savings i had. :D i wish they would open up more legit e-cig stores around me.
