iGO L - Is this Brass?

Usually have a stainless wick on this iGO, which rest against the center post. After removing the wick, I noticed some discoloration on the center post. Is this plated brass?

I think the posts are. The deck isn't brass.

Yea, I think the posts are plated brass, but they appear to be constructed from the same material as the base.
Excessive dry burns with a stainless wick will remove that plating in no time.

I wonder if they made improvements since I bought mine.
Try to sand the post down on yours and let me know. Joke. Learn from my misfortune.

here's the interior of the base. I would call this "1.2". The top cap was snug and the air hole was about 2mm above the rim.

I notice a few differences between mine a few others. That one has a larger insulator on the center post like the newer ones that are sold. I think I might get a another one, maybe an iGO s or something smaller.

Are there any other "all stainless" RDAs with similar dimensions?

I just re coiled this one with cotton, vapes good, but its just not the same as stainless. I might try to increase the length of the legs to keep the stainless away from the post, which is difficult with higher gauge wire.

i was comparing my igo l and my igo w the other day and realized that i think the igo w has a plated base plate. While my igo l has a stainless steel base plate. Why????

because im a professional at telling the difference between chrome plating and stainless steel on igo w's. No im just kidding. But under the base plate next to the threading i see machine marks that look like they have been plated over. You know what it looks like when you see fresh foot prints in the snow. that is what the machining lines look like on my igo l.

Now image what it looks like when you see foot prints in the snow that have had a little time to accumulate some more snow from it snowing out side. thats what the stainless steel looks like on my igo w. it looks like machining marks have a bit of plating on top kinda making them smooth.

Please note these marks are only visible with the right light and refection. I hope im wrong but it was just something i happened to notice. im not 100 percent on this. My diablo clone from fast tech looked the same way. It was supposed to be brass. I sanded it down to reveal it was gold plate, silver plate, then copper. thats right copper. not brass. Now i have a full copper diablo clone. As well as a tvs diablo stainless steel in the mail. cant wait.
