I think it's that if you have longer wicks you can add more juice because it soaks it up. I put about 2 1/2 inches off each side, and I can open it with 8 drops or so in it and not spill anything. Right now I have one piece of 2.5mm silicaabout 4 inches long, then a pieceabout 1.5 inches in the middle, then I wrapped it with a piece of 400 mesh nicely oxidized, and used 28g kanthal for a 3/4 wrap and I've got .9ohms. It's working great!! and I just have the long legs to hold juice and I can put 14-15 drops in at a time and it vapes like a beast.

Don't longer legs cause "hot legs" or am I missing something?

Depends on how tight you wrap the coils too.

when I do it, it looks like this.

long legs 'n all.

Hey pdib, I just noticed that hole you have in the IGO in another post. Did you put that there? That's a pretty slick idea! :toast:

Is that a modified Igo-L?

Yes it's an IGO-L. I just drilled wire holes on the posts. Didn't expect the posts to be SS though, not nearly as easy to drill holes on brass posts.

Yeah, back when I was trying to make the Stone work. Those wicks need a lot of pampering. It works good for vertical wicks, and for one end of a flexible one.

LOOK at you, tho. ↑ "La la laaaaah, Oh I think I'll just drill me a little hole here."

Haha! Come over with your goods, you can drill all the holes ya want, we can have a hole drillin' party, but ya ain't gonna find any oil or gold down in these parts, we all dried up. I won't charge you but you're sweepin' up. ;)

So you would want the legs of the coil to be farther away from the post? Why so? How high is it suppose to be from the deck?

The only reason I use the long legs is to get the micro coil right in front of the air hole. I can't recommend how high the coil should be from the deck cause I hear the height air hole on the IGO is not consistent. My air hole is pretty much right at the lip of the juice well and I position my coil so it's ead smack in the center of the air hole. I wish my air hole was high but I don't want my air hole any bigger or add another. Yeah, I'm wimpy like that, I don't prefer airy draw most of the time.

Mine came really low on the cap too, so I drilled it out to a 5/64 because half the hole is still covered by the lid of the deck = 1/16 hole.

i know what you mean about a more airy draw...the other day i drilled out my airhole to 1/16 and it was too much. I should have left it at the step before 1/16. However after reading your post I checked the position of my coil/hole and found the coil lower. After adjusting it higher, it has a slightly tighter draw with a much better vape. :)
