Anybody ever tried making dual coils on this?

You could but you'd have to drill another airhole for it to be really effective. The stock airhole on these is undersized (typical) so simply drilling another airhole the same size as the stock hole on the opposite side may be a perfect draw...the issue is, I run a 28 oval coil that is just tipping on sub ohm, the igo S's get hot with that set-up, like serious hot...face it, these things are cheap, there isn't a whole lot of metal mass in the cap...I've run DC sub ohm set-up's in ERA's and they get hot, you'd be replacing the igo S's insulators in short order :p

I'm interested in one of these. Is the size of the air hole really too small? I'm not sure if I have anything that I can use to make it bigger. What kind of wick/coil should I use if I'm aiming around 2.0 ohms? And how would I test the resistance of the coil using a regular multimeter (a basic all purpose digital one, not the one with the ecig adapter/base). Do I just attach it to some part of the coil or what?

I just got one the other day... I LOVE IT!!!! I was using LR901 with drip shields for 2+ years. I bought .6 x .1 Kanthal ribbon and some organic cotton balls.

Using a 2.25" piece to make a micro coil (wrapped around a large safety pin), I ended up with about 1.5 ohms. Before coiling I put the flat wire down on a wood surface and held my multimeter probes to each end to check the resistance.

I find the iso-s to be much airier than the 901/drip shield combo (which is known to be a tight draw).

Here is my first ribbon build from last night.

I bent it in a V and put the air hole @ the point. It seems to be working pretty good for me... I may drill a second hole 90 deg from the stock one to pull air across both parts (not because I feel it needs more air).

[edit]

I broke the leg of my coil and decided to go with a shorter / hotter one. 8 wraps is working nicely

I recently busted my S out of storage again, as I picked up the *perfect* little mod for it. I forgot how well this thing hits! I've opened the airhole up to 1.4mm (I believe) which makes a WORLD of difference. Now I just have to get some unprotected batteries, because this minimum resistance stuff bugs the hell out of me.

I don't think you can get a much smaller mech RBA combo than this!
