I'm trying to decide what to get.. coming from an ego tank system. I have enjoyed it okay but am just ready for another. I have narrowed it down to these choices. I love D&B GOLD so I was looking at the IGO and the ECHO.. intrigued by the new tank he has for the IGO cartos. He says he loves them. Anyone tried it?? Then again one of the veterans on here has raved about the elite 808. AND everyone seems to love the ECHO.. any suggestions or feedback would be helpful..
thanks

I'm not much help since I haven't tried any of these. But. . . From what I've read, the Echo is the automatic battery version of the iGo. Since the Ego-T appears to be a manual battery, then the iGo would seem to be the choice between the 2, since you're already used to a manual battery (e.g. which don't burn out from juice leaking into it). The nice thing about the Elite 808 is that it's much thinner than the iGo, which is big plus if you prefer something that looks more like a cigarette. IMHO, it looks a bit more 'elegant'. But the battery capacity is only 380 mAh, which means in theory it won't last as long between charges as the iGo (despite the claims of really long battery life). So I'd guess the iGo would be the choice if battery capacity is most important, but the Elite 808 if you prefer the thinner look. All three are KR808D1 compatible so you'll have the opportunity to try the myriad of KR808D cartomizers, if you like experimenting.

Another option, and I think it's pretty new, is the "808-compatible eGo" from Smoktech. I just got mine a few days ago from SmokTek.com, and I really, really like it. Not only is it a high-voltage 900mAh battery, but it also comes with three 5ml dual coil cartos that I'm really happy with -- no leakage if you fill them slowly, no drop off in any area. ALSO, (and this is big as far as I'm concerned) it has a BUILT-IN PASSTHROUGH, so it plugs into any standard USB cable so you can use it at ~5 volts while it charges, which was the tipping point over the iGo, vGo, kGo, etc. Any passthrough is a necessity in my book, but built-in? Too cool. And, it comes with a free nice and roomy eGo carrying case that is more than I expected. I paid a little over $50 shipped (on sale, but Rob at SmokTek is a good guy and he will probably give you the sale price if you email him). Now in a few months, I'll no doubt be looking for something else in a variable voltage, but for now ....

I recently lost my old faithful volcano inferno battery after a full 12 months of use out of it and I am grabbing an elite 808. Mind you I have a couple of mods for around the house so its going to be my out and about unit but I like the higher voltage under load and the carto design (both of which I have had experience with outside of the elite 808 as a unit) so as a portable going out unit it seems to fit the bill for me best...

it looks nice as well.

It really depends on what you are looking for at this point. I've not used the iGo, but I have used (and reviewed) both the Echo (1300 mAh version) and the Elite 808. Based on my experience and the comments above:

  • If you want a large, high mAh, 3+ ml juice-capacity PV, get the Echo, iGo, or SmokTek's 808-compatible eGo. [NOTE: The 650 mAh PigCig also falls into this category, but it seems overpriced to me.]

  • If you want an automatic battery and/or the most mAh for the buck, make it the 1300 mAh Echo ($40 from SmokTek). [All others mentioned here are manual batteries.]

  • If you want an even higher mAh manual battery (but without the extras of the above model), get NHaler's $65 iGo (1100 mAh). [Remember that I have never vaped it, but the other models listed here seem more cost-effective.]
  • If you want a slimmer, elegant-looking PV with outstanding vapor and TH, get my current favorite: CigEasy's $50 Elite 808. Its 380 mAh is significantly less than the others and its 2-ml juice capacity is less (but twice that of most 808s). But its two batteries (760 mAh total) should get most vapers through the better part of a day.
  • If that isn't quite enough mAh for your needs, you could supplement with your current eGo-T batteries (650 mAh, 3.2V) and an inexpensive 510-to-808/901 adapter (i.e., $1.50 from Good Prophets) or with...
  • The 750 mAh, 3.7V Riva-901 ($30 from Liberty-Flights). The Elite cartomizers might work on the Riva-901 without adapter and certainly will work, using a 901-to-808 adapter (e.g., from Good Prophets or Liberty-Flights).
So, like everything else in vaping, there is no one best e-cig for all vapers. Think about what is most important to you right now and then ... go for it!

Enjoy the adventure!
